How long will Lapras be available? So far, Lapras is announced for only one month. It appears on January 1st at 10 PM and will remain in the breakthrough until February 1st at 10 PM.
How do I get the research breakthrough? You need to complete field research on a total of 7 days. You earn one stamp per day. Once you have 7 stamps, the research breakthrough is waiting for you.
How effective will Lapras be with the moves? The attacks are good moves for Lapras. Ice Beam is particularly interesting because it has two charge bars and can be used quickly.
However, Lapras remains a weak alternative to the top Ice attackers. Pokémon like Mamoswine, Glaceon, or Snorlax are significantly better attackers. Therefore, the Pokémon from the breakthrough in January 2020 is more for collectors.
How is the breakthrough received by players? This announcement does not cause much excitement. Some players are even disappointed, as there have been recent opportunities to catch Lapras.
