The new Pokémon Axantor will soon celebrate its debut in Pokémon GO – in the form of a Raid Day. We summarize how it works here.
When is the Raid Day with Axantor? The Raid Day takes place on Saturday, May 6th from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM local time. It is one of the first May events in Pokémon GO and is already approaching.
What kind of Pokémon is this? Axantor was introduced to the Pokémon world with the Switch game “Legends: Arceus” and belongs to the Bug and Rock types.
Axantor can – actually – evolve from Scyther. In “Legends: Arceus”, this happens when the item “Black Augite” is applied to Scyther. Then it evolves into Axantor instead of the previously known Scizor. It represents an alternative evolution from the Hisui region, as was the case with Ursaluna.
However, the evolution from Scyther in Pokémon GO will not be possible for now, according to the announcement from Niantic (via pokemongolive.com). Instead, you can only obtain the axe monster in Raid battles.
Coincidentally, Pokémon GO is hosting the Raid Day on April 6th.
How does the Raid Day with Axantor work? All bonuses of the event
This is what happens on the Raid Day: You have a total of three hours to complete Axantor raids during the event, which will likely take place at most arenas in the game. The raids are level 3 and should be doable alone.
Can Axantor be Shiny? Yes, Axantor will be available as Shiny right at its debut. Additionally, there will be an increased chance of Shiny during the raids on Raid Day. Anyone who wants the shimmering Axantor should keep this in mind.
What bonuses does the Raid Day bring? In addition to more frequent Axantor raids and the increased Shiny chance, there are two more bonuses:
- You will receive up to five additional daily raid passes when spinning gyms during the event and up to two hours afterward. In the past, the next pass at such events was always given once a free pass was used.
- The remote raid limit will be increased to ten remote raids from 00:00 to 23:59 on the event day.
What is the deal with the remote raid limit? Pokémon GO recently made headlines when some changes regarding remote raids were announced. This includes a remote raid limit that restricts players to up to five remote raids per day.
