When is the Raid Day? The Raid Day with Mega Scizor takes place on Saturday, April 13, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
What kind of event is this? On a Raid Day, you have a Pokémon that is the focus of raids. During the event, you will have the opportunity to challenge and subsequently catch the Pokémon in numerous gyms. This means you can conduct a large number of raids against Mega Scizor.
If you defeat Mega Scizor, you will receive Mega Energy as a reward. This is required to trigger the Mega Evolution. The faster you defeat it, the more Mega Energy you will receive.
How does the Raid Day with Mega Scizor work?
How to get Mega Scizor: After successfully defeating Mega Scizor, you won’t have the chance to catch it yourself. Instead, you can catch a regular Scizor and will receive Mega Energy for successfully completing the raid.
How much energy do you need? You need a total of 200 Mega Energy from Scizor to trigger the Mega Evolution for this Pokémon for the first time.
What bonuses are there? During the event, the following bonuses will be active:
- Increased chance of encountering a Shiny Scizor in raids
- Up to 5 additional raid passes by spinning gyms
- The limit for remote raids will be increased to 20 (this bonus starts already on Friday, April 12, 2024, at 5:00 PM and is valid until Saturday, April 13, 2024, at 8:00 PM)
- More Pokémon will appear for 15 minutes around the gym when at least 2 trainers present successfully complete a raid
How should I proceed? To make the most of the additional raid passes, the following procedure is recommended to effectively use the Raid Day:
- You challenge a Mega Scizor and defeat it
- You spin the gym’s disc to receive a new pass
- You head to the next gym and repeat the process
How do I defeat Mega Scizor the fastest? Mega Scizor has the types Bug and Fighting. Thus, Flying-type attackers are particularly effective as both types are weak to Mega Scizor. You can also use Fire, Psychic, and Fairy types, which are also effective.

You should definitely use the team play feature if you are battling in raids with your friends on-site. This can give you an additional attacking advantage.
Is Mega Scizor worth it? Mega Scizor is a strong Pokémon for your team. Both as a Bug and a Fighting attacker, Mega Scizor performs well and can hold its own in raids and gyms. As a Bug attacker, the combination of Bug Bite and X-Scissor represents the best moves, while as a Fighting attacker, you should focus on Counter and Close Combat.
