Niantic mistakenly distributed an overly strong attack for a Pokémon in Pokémon GO. You can find out what it’s all about here.
Which attack? During the Community Day in December 2023, Pokémon could learn exclusive attacks that they normally wouldn’t learn. Here, Kosturso was able to learn the charged attack Ableithieb. However, due to an error, this attack was partly learned as a fast attack instead of a charged attack.
Niantic subsequently banned the Pokémon from the battle leagues to avoid greater damage in the leagues. However, Kosturso still retained the faulty attack and was able to use it in other areas such as battles against Rockets, raids, and in fights against defending Arena Pokémon.
Now Niantic has responded and adjusted the attack for the affected Kosturso. As they write on X (formerly Twitter), the incorrectly set fast attack charged attacks have now been removed. Instead, the fast attack Dunkelkaue has been added.

Affected trainers will be compensated by Niantic
What compensation is there from Niantic? Trainers who own such a Kosturso will now be compensated by Niantic. An item bundle will be made available in the shop in Pokémon GO, which can be redeemed until February 28, 2025.
As a trainer reports on Reddit, who himself owned two Kosturso with the faulty attack, the compensation consists of two items. These are a Top Fast TM and a Top Charged TM each.
