What’s happening in Pokémon GO: In Pokémon GO, a new gameplay section started on June 1 with the “Season of Discovery”. The new season brings changes to spawns, eggs, and Raid bosses.
Among other things, there are new legendary Raid bosses, but even on the lower Raid levels, things have changed. Here you can find the current Raid bosses in the list.

Counters for Regice, Registeel, and Regirock
Here’s how to defeat the trio: The legendary giants Regice, Registeel, and Regirock will remain in Level-5 Raids until June 17 before being replaced by an unknown Raid boss. The three monsters are not new to the game, but if you lack good specimens or the Shiny variant, some raids could be worthwhile.
To defeat the Regis, you should focus on the following counters.
- Regice is weak to Fire, Rock, Fighting, and Steel. Therefore, monsters like:
- Mega Charizard Y with Fire Spin and Blast Burn
- Reshiram with Fire Fang and Overheat
- Metagross with Bullet Punch and Meteor Mash
- Blaziken with Fire Spin and Overheat
- Regirock has problems with Fighting, Ground, Water, Grass, and Steel. Use counters like:
- Metagross with Bullet Punch and Meteor Mash
- Machamp with Counter and Dynamic Punch
- Mega-Blastoise with Water Gun and Hydro Cannon
- Scrafty with Counter and Foul Play
- Registeel can be defeated with Fire, Fighting, and Ground-type monsters. Good counters include:
- Mega Charizard Y with Fire Spin and Blast Burn
- Entei with Fire Spin and Overheat
- Machamp with Counter and Dynamic Punch
- Reshiram with Fire Fang and Overheat
Which bosses are still worthwhile?
These raids are worth it: Overall, the usefulness of the bosses depends on your goals and the monsters you already own. If you are looking for Shinies, most of the bosses are interesting – however, you need a lot of luck to encounter a Shiny.
- At Level 1, Whismur is a good monster as its evolution Mamoswine is one of the best Ice attackers in Pokémon GO. Although it has not been rare in the past and had a Community Day, if you lack a good specimen, you might want to go for it.
- Gulpin is also exciting: Its evolution Scrafty belongs to the best Fighting attackers and can also be evolved through the trading feature.
- Machamp is also a classic among Raid and Arena attackers, as it can be used against many bosses. One should definitely have a good specimen of it.
- Magnemite’s evolution Magnezone is among the best Electric attackers.
- Monsters like Lapras, Pidgeot, or Gulpin’s evolution Walrein can also be useful if you enjoy playing in the PvP League.
Speaking of the PvP League: The 8th season just started there. And in the new battle league season you can even secure a new Pokémon.
