There is new information about the GO Fest 2021 in Pokémon GO! Developer Niantic announces details regarding the event and reveals 7 new Shinys for the event. We provide you with the overview.
When does the GO Fest 2021 take place? You will have 2 whole days for the GO Fest this year as well. It takes place on June 17 and July 18, each from 10 AM to 6 PM local time. The two days differ in content. The first day focuses on the theme of “Catching,” while the second day is all about Raid battles.
How much does the GO Fest cost? Here is a big surprise. Last year, the ticket cost almost 15 dollars plus taxes. This year it is supposed to cost only 5 dollars plus taxes. So the ticket this year costs only a third. In the in-game shop, the ticket costs 5.49 euros.
This is the theme: The entire GO Fest revolves around the theme of music. That’s why numerous musical Pokémon will appear in the wild during the event.
This is how the GO Fest 2021 will go down
This is what happens on the first day for all players: The first day is worthwhile for all players – whether you have a ticket or not. The listed bonuses apply to all trainers. Here are the contents:
- There are 4 different habitats that change every hour. Depending on the habitat, different Pokémon will appear more frequently in the wild. The hours are divided as follows:
- Jungle: Pokémon like Scyther, Gible, or Froakie
- Desert Mountains: Pokémon like Pidgeot, Shieldon, or Hippopotas
- Seaside: Pokémon like Dratini, Swablu, or Mamolida
- Caves: Pokémon like Rockruff, Galarian Weezing, or Tumbet
- In Raids, Pokémon like Hitmontop, Cranidos, Tynamo, costumed Galarian Ponyta, and Galarian Zigzagoon appear
- Throughout the event, the following Pokémon appear in the wild: Palimpalim, Zirpurze, and Ohrdoch as well as a costumed Pikachu
- There is a free avatar t-shirt for the GO Fest
- On this day, the following Shinys appear for the first time: Flurmel, Palimpalim, Ohrdoch, and Schallquap
This is what happens on the first day for ticket holders: In addition, there are many bonuses that only ticket holders can take advantage of. This includes a special research task where you need to assemble a band of Pokémon. You can choose between Rocker Pikachu and Star Pikachu. Depending on your choice, a different music track will play during the game. The special research will reward you with an as-yet-unknown mysterious Pokémon.
Every hour there is a different global challenge that needs to be completed. Once achieved, all ticket holders will benefit from a bonus for the remainder of the hour.
Additionally, the Shiny chance is increased for all ticket holders. On Saturday, the chance is higher than on Sunday, but even then you benefit from an improved chance. So if you want to catch many Shinys, you should secure a ticket.
The incense attracts special Pokémon in the game on the first day. Only ticket holders will benefit from this. The following Pokémon appear more frequently in the incense:
- Jungle: Pokémon like Unown F, Unown G, Kappalores, Plaudagei, Folipurba, and Serpiroyal
- Desert Mountains: Pokémon like Flareon, Unown F, Unown G, Tyranitar, Libelldra, and Jiutesto
- Seaside: Pokémon like Gyarados, Vaporeon, Azumarill, Unown F, Unown G, and Karadonis
- Caves: Pokémon like Umbreon, Unown F, Unown G, Gardevoir, Absol, and Voltula
- New Shinys in the incense: In the incense, you have the chance to encounter the new Shiny forms of Unown F, Jiutesto, and Karadonis
This is what happens on the second day for all players: Without a ticket, you will also be able to enjoy some bonuses on the second day. These include:
- Special favorite Pokémon return to the raids – specific details about this are not yet available
- All Pokémon from the first day will also appear in the wild on the second day – however, without the habitats
This is what happens on the second day for ticket holders: Those who buy a ticket can take advantage of even more on the second day. Here is the list of bonuses:
- Every raid on Sunday gives you 10,000 additional experience points
- There are up to 10 free raid passes for all ticket holders – these passes alone are worth about 10 euros if purchased separately
- Additionally, there is a limited research task that rewards you with 8 remote raid passes
- A free box in the in-game shop grants you 3 additional remote raid passes
- All Pokémon that were attracted by the incense on Saturday will also appear in the incense on Sunday
This is available on both days: There are not enough bonuses yet! Additionally, there are some bonuses that are active on both GO Fest days. These include:
- Lures last for 3 hours
- The hatching distance for eggs is halved
- 7 km eggs include different Pokémon such as Fluffeluff, Klingplim, and Ohrdoch
- There are exclusive field researches for the GO Fest
- Ticket holders receive exclusive stickers with gifts
- Snapshots yield a surprise – but only for ticket holders
How can you buy the ticket? The tickets are already available in the in-game shop. You can purchase them there normally and will receive a medal a few days before the event starts.
