The great challenge at the GO Fest Sapporo has been successfully solved by you in Pokémon GO. Niantic now rewards Hyperbonuses for the Bug Catching Event and the Community Day featuring Galar Zigzagoon. We show you the new bonuses in an overview.
Why are the events being improved? Last weekend, the GO Fest took place in Sapporo, Japan. Trainers on-site had various tasks and players around the world could help unlock Hyperbonuses during a Global Challenge.
It seems to have worked out well, as Niantic announced that the new Hyperbonuses are confirmed and will be active at the events.
Hyperbonuses for Bug Catching + Community Day announced
What changes for the Bug Catching Event? Thanks to the Hyperbonuses, Unown in the T-form and a regional Pokémon will be available globally at the event. Additionally, there will be content that affects candies, XL candies, and more.
- Additional candies when you catch Pokémon with a nice, great, or fantastic throw
- Trainers from level 31 have a greater chance of obtaining XL candies with nice, great, and fantastic throws
- In raids, you will encounter Unown in the T-form. With some luck, even as Shiny
- The regional Pokémon Vegimak appears worldwide in the wild and in raids. With some luck, you can catch it as Shiny
- During the event, a limited research task will run, where you need to catch Bug Pokémon. For this, you will receive items, Mega Energy for Scizor, and encounters with Pokémon

What changes for the Community Day? In August, the Community Day featuring Galar Zigzagoon will take place. Thanks to the Hyperbonuses, there will be more XP, candies, and trade improvements.
- Double XP for catching Pokémon
- Double candies for sending Pokémon
- You can make two additional special trades per day. In combination with the bonus of the Season of GO, you can then make 4 special trades on the event day
- Trades that you conduct during the event will cost 75% less Stardust. This bonus replaces the old saving bonus for Stardust and will not be added on
