The Color Festival returns to Pokémon GO. There is a new Shiny, and Master Painter Farbeagle is back again.
When does the Color Festival take place? The Color Festival 2025 starts on March 13 at 10:00 AM. It ends on March 17 at 8:00 PM. So it runs from Thursday to Monday, giving you a long weekend to take advantage of the bonuses.
What is the highlight of the Color Festival? Basically, there are two highlights, because those who are out hunting for Shinies have two interesting options here.
On one hand, Shiny Farbeagle is returning. This is only available during limited time periods, like the Color Festival. Once the event is over, the shiny Painter Pokémon will no longer appear. So make sure to make the most of those 5 days. You can encounter Farbeagle as always only through the Snapshot feature.
On the other hand, there is a debut: The Pokémon Knirfish is appearing for the first time in its Shiny variant in Pokémon GO. It can spawn in the wild, but as always, you need a lot of luck to encounter the Shiny.

What else does the event offer? Besides the two exciting Shinies, the Color Festival has a few other bonuses in store.
Throughout the event, the following will apply:
- Lure Modules last for three hours.
- Incense lasts for two hours, but not the daily adventure incense.
- You can encounter Knirfish more often when using incense.

- Flabébé (Orange Flower)* (Rare)
In addition, various Flabébé will appear.

- Level 3: Aquana, Blitza, Flamara
- Level 5: Kapu-Riki*
- Mega Raids: Mega-Sumpex*
Research: The event also brings some research tasks.
- There is a free limited-time research that will reward you with, among other things, an incense, 4 special candies, Pokémon encounters, and more.
- There will be another limited-time research that is expected to cost 2 US dollars (similarly in euros) in the shop.
Finally, event showcases will also take place where you can submit your Pokémon to secure various rewards. The Color Festival will be one of the first events of the new season, but there are also other dates. March brings several events promising exciting Pokémon – like the new Dakuma.
