This is the costume trainers wish for: Many other trainers had hoped that this year there would be a completely new costume. In particular, they already have a concrete idea of what this could be for Pikachu: a bunny costume. Other trainers would be satisfied with a Pikachu with bunny ears or an Easter hat.
What a Pikachu in an Easter costume might look like is shown by the Twitter user TeamSableye through a plush toy from the Pokémon Center. He writes (via twitter.com): “Since they like to use Pokémon Center plush toys as templates for costumes, maybe they should take this year’s Easter Pikachu, it’s super cute” and posts an appropriate image.
Whether you will still be able to enjoy another cool costumed monster for the Easter event remains to be seen. Since the findings are not official data, the developers also have the option to change them or even decide against a release. However, as soon as there is official information on this, you will definitely find out here on MeinMMO.
How do you like the new findings? Did you wish for a different costume as well? Or do you think it’s totally okay that Niantic is simply making minor changes to the flower crowns? Feel free to let us know in the comments and discuss this topic with other trainers.

In Pokémon GO new costumed monsters have been discovered for spring and the upcoming Easter season, but they are currently causing quite a confusion among trainers. What this is all about and which Pokémon players wish for instead, we have summarized for you here on MeinMMO.
Which Pokémon are we talking about? In addition to the normal forms of Pokémon, trainers in Pokémon GO can occasionally encounter so-called costumed monsters. These are Pokémon that wear a special outfit, such as a hat or a scarf, for an event. Pikachu particularly loves to dress up, which is why there are now numerous different forms of the little electric mouse.
Since the costumed monsters are usually only available in the game for a short time and some of them cannot be obtained again, they are especially interesting for collectors. This makes them quite rare, especially when they can also be caught as shiny.
Now the PokeMiners, a group of data miners, have discovered new costumed Pokémon that, judging by their appearance, are likely intended for spring and the upcoming Easter holiday. But the design confuses trainers. We’ll show you why.
As the reddit user PoGoNL reports in his current post, the PokeMiners have stumbled upon a dataset with new costumed Pokémon in their latest search in the source code. In a graphic released by the dataminers, Eevee and Pikachu along with their evolutionary stages can be seen with a flower crown.

With this, Niantic apparently wants to welcome spring, which is why the flower crowns would fit perfectly for the Easter event in April. In previous years, the developers have chosen similar costumes for these events. For example, last year Togetic was found in the game with such a crown.
What confuses trainers about the costumes? Those who have been playing Pokémon GO for a while will initially be baffled by the seemingly new costumes. Because somehow the new appearance seems somewhat familiar.
Many trainers are currently wondering, like the Twitter user Buschin135 (via twitter.com): “Didn’t we already have these costumes?” And yes, Pikachu and Eevee have indeed been available in the past multiple times with a similar flower crown in the game. Both also spawned last during the Spring event 2022, around Easter, and could even evolve accordingly.
What is different now? If you examine the new graphics more closely and compare them with the old flower crowns, you can see one or two tiny differences. For example, the flowers of the new costumes are noticeably more reddish than the ones from previous years.

Moreover, this year the green leaves in the crown have been omitted, so there are only flowers to be seen. Additionally, the arrangement of the flowers has slightly changed. The differences are therefore negligible.
This is also what the reddit user AnnieJack thinks, who can hardly tell the two variants apart (via reddit.com): “I opened the app and called up the existing Eevee with a crown. I switched back and forth between the apps and still couldn’t tell. […] It’s like the difference between Gengar and Shiny-Gengar, only that [Shiny-] Gengar at least has the little shimmering symbol. I will never be able to distinguish between these Eevee and Pikachu.”
Trainers are disappointed – Hope for different costumes
In the comments on Twitter and reddit, the supposedly new costumes are not having a positive reception at all. This is primarily because they hardly differ from the previous Eevee and Pikachu with flower crowns. Additionally, the ornaments are relatively small, making them difficult to recognize in overview. You can read the following comments (via reddit.com):
Imshinypokemon: “I hate them so much. The fact that they differ from those we had before, but not so much that you instantly recognize them as new… That’s a bad decision.”
krispyboiz: “I collect lucky costumes, and the costumes in the Eevee line are the bane of my existence. What is this even? A slight variation of flower crowns? My God, that’s lame.”
iamnota_SHADOW: “I’m sorry, but these little ornament ‘costumes’ are so minimalistic. I wish there were more costumes like Glaceon with a coat from December.”
