The Mega Evolutions are now a fixture in Pokémon GO. Here we show you the list of all available Mega Raids and upcoming Mega Pokémon.
What is a Mega Evolution? This evolution strengthens a Pokémon in its final form even more. For example, a Charizard can evolve into Mega Charizard, becoming even stronger.
In Pokémon GO, however, Mega Evolutions are only temporary. An evolution lasts exactly 4 hours. After that, the Mega Pokémon reverts to its normal form.
However, not every Pokémon has a Mega Evolution, and not every Mega Evolution is available in Pokémon GO. Here we show you a list of all available Mega Evolutions and their counters. After that, there is also a look ahead at upcoming Mega Evolutions.

How to recognize a Mega Raid? Regardless of the Pokémon, you can recognize a Mega Raid by the color of the egg. The egg is red and white and differs significantly from the normal raid egg.
This is how a Mega Raid works: In the raid, you battle against the Mega Evolution of the Pokémon. Depending on how quickly you defeat the Pokémon in battle, you will be rewarded with Mega Energy, which you will need later for the Mega Evolution.
After the battle, you can catch the base form of the Pokémon. Therefore, you cannot catch a Mega Evolution. However, there is a consolation prize: The normal form may be Shiny.
