From December 1st, it will get really exciting in Pokémon GO . Developer Niantic is rolling out the “GO Beyond” update. Generation 6, level 50, and the first season are waiting for you.
Update 8:00 PM: Level 50 is now available! You can now reach 10 more levels from level 40. In addition, the platinum medals have been unlocked, which you will need for some level-ups.
All tasks known for the level-ups from 41 to 50.
We will extensively inform you about the innovations tomorrow, on December 1st. Additionally, there will be guides for the level-ups.
What is GO Beyond? This update was announced by Niantic in mid-November. With this, they are bringing their biggest update ever to the game. Today, November 30th, you can expect first innovations. The days following will also be exciting.
To give you an overview of the next days and what will happen there, we will go through the next days chronologically with you.
November 30, 2020 – What will happen?
These innovations in level are coming: The first innovations for level 50 are expected to be introduced on November 30th. The time is assumed to be 10:00 PM – the most usually happens in Pokémon GO around that time.
From November 30th, the level system will change. You will receive more XP for various actions – it could thus be similar to the new system in Australia.
What else is happening? Currently, there is a countdown on Twitter for a Raid Egg that will expire today at 8:00 PM. The Raid Egg probably hides the new Pokémon Psiau, which has been sufficiently teased.
We could thus expect that this Pokémon will appear in the raids from 8:00 PM. However, this remains to be seen.
December 1, 2020 – What will happen?
These innovations are coming with the seasons: The seasons themselves are the big innovation, as there has not been anything like it in Pokémon GO before. From December 1st at 8:00 AM local time, the first season will be active.
It is titled “a festive season”. It is expected to revolve around the holidays, but also around generation 6. However, there is a contradiction here. Niantic says that at the start of the season, the first Pokémon from Gen 6 will also appear. In their announcement for Gen 6, however, they state that the Pokémon from the Kalos region will only appear on December 2nd.
So it will show by December 1st at 8:00 AM at the latest, whether the first Pokémon from Gen 6 will appear or if we have to wait another day.
In general, the seasons are supposed to influence spawns, eggs, and raids, and the northern and southern hemispheres will also play a role in the spawns. Additionally, Mega Evolutions are expected to vary in strength depending on the season.
During this season, Pokémon like Alola Sandshrew, Alola Vulpix, Lapras, Swablu, Teddiursa, and the winter form of Sawsbuck are expected to appear.
We will clarify the season on MeinMMO tomorrow and look at the innovations.
These innovations are coming to the PvP mode: Along with the seasons, a new rank system will be introduced in the PvP league. You will then be able to climb 24 ranks and there will be medals when you reach ranks 21-24.
Additionally, the reward system in the league will be revised and the rewards will be based on your ranks and the seasons.
December 2, 2020 – What will happen?
These innovations concerning the Pokémon are coming: On December 2nd, officially 17 Pokémon from Generation 6 will appear. These include:
- Igamaro
- Igastarnish
- Brigaron
- Fynx
- Rutena
- Fennexis
- Froxy
- Amphizel
- Quajutsu
- Scoppel
- Grebbit
- Dartiri
- Dartignis
- Fiaro
- Leufeo
- Pyroleo
- Clavion (regional Pokémon from France)
However, there is still no exact time for the release. Additionally, it is still unknown which monsters will be catchable in the wild and which will be available only through raids.
On December 2nd at 10:00 AM local time, an event themed around Generation 6 will then start. Monsters from the Kalos region will appear more frequently. There are no further details about the event yet.
