Currently, the GO Tour with the powerful Kyurem is running in Pokémon GO. However, some players seem to be experiencing a bug with the attack.
What is happening in Pokémon GO? This weekend, the worldwide Unova Tour in Pokémon GO is taking place. The star of the weekend is Kyurem, which is one of the most powerful Pokémon in the game with its two forms.
Through the fusion of Kyurem, players can obtain one of two strong attacks. It is important that the Kyurem being used already knows the attack “Glaciate.” When it is fused with Zekrom or Reshiram, one of the following two monsters is supposed to result:
- The white Kyurem with the attack Frost Breath
- The black Kyurem with the attack Ice Volt
Where is the bug? The strange thing is: Currently, some trainers seem to be experiencing an inversion of the attacks. A few players are also reporting issues with “Glaciate.”
Some Kyurem seem to have the wrong attack – What’s going on?
This is what trainers are reporting: On the subreddit “TheSilphRoad,” a few trainers report that they experienced errors.
One trainer showcased their black Kyurem, which for some reason had learned the attack Frost Breath instead of Ice Volt:
In the comments, a few other trainers also reported the same problem. However, the reason for this is still unknown. So far, these are isolated cases.
Furthermore, there seems to be a second problem. In principle, it is intended that one of the two Kyurem variants that can be caught during the GO Tour knows the attack Glaciate. To achieve this, you must defeat and catch the white or black Kyurem in raids. Important: Which version knows the attack Glaciate is determined by the path you choose at the beginning of the new special research for the event.
However, trainers are also reporting on Reddit that it does not always work. In those cases, the chosen version also does not know Glaciate, which is needed as a basis for the strong attacks of the fusion forms.
Here, trainers at least have a theory: The two Kyurem variants alternate hourly. For one hour, the white Kyurem is present in raids, and then the black Kyurem for the next hour, and so on. Trainers now suspect that the attack is not bound to the monster version but to the hour in which you catch it (via Reddit). If that is the case, Pokémon for which the raid extends beyond a change of hour would not possess the special attack.
Whether this is actually the case is currently still unclear. As of now, Niantic support has not released anything on the subject. Should that change, we will keep you informed.
GO Tour continues: The GO Tour runs until Sunday evening at 6:00 PM. So there is still time to catch Kyurem and enjoy the other event content. What do you think of the event so far?
