Why is this possible right now? The reason is the new Crypto Pokémon that came with Team Rocket to Pokémon GO. They actually increase the IV of the Pokémon when you subsequently purify them.
Because they increase the IV, the chance of getting a 100% IV Pokémon is now higher, especially when you trade it.
Currently, it’s so easy to get Pokémon with 100% IV
What do you need to do? After defeating a Rocket Grunt, they leave behind a Crypto Pokémon. You can then catch this monster normally.
Then trade the Crypto Pokémon in its current state with another trainer and hope that it becomes a Lucky Pokémon. There are also Lucky Crypto Pokémon.
The special thing about Lucky Pokémon is that they have a minimum of 12 in every stat. So they have at least HP, attack, and defense values of 12.
When you purify this Pokémon, it additionally gets 2 points in each stat, as this is the special thing about purifying Pokémon.
Your Pokémon with 12/12/12 will then have 14/14/14. However, if your Pokémon has at least 13/13/13 in its stats, it will become a 100% IV Pokémon. A stat cannot exceed 15.
What does this mean for the probability? If you own a Lucky Pokémon that is also a Crypto Pokémon, it has at least all stats at 14. This means it has at least 93% IV.
The probability of getting a 100% IV Pokémon has never been so high as it is now, because previously a Lucky Pokémon had at least 80% IV.
To approach this mathematically, it can be noted that the chance of each stat being 13 or more in a Lucky Pokémon is 75%.
When calculated for all stats, one can say that a Lucky Pokémon has over a 40% chance of having all stats at 13 or more. This is sufficient for it to have 100% IV after purification.
What does this mean for me? You should definitely trade every Crypto Pokémon if it doesn’t already have good IV. The chance of getting a 100 is extremely high.
For example, there is also Crypto Snorlax or Crypto Charizard. Here you can also consider sacrificing a Lucky friend and trade such a Pokémon with this friend. It will have at least 93% IV and high chances of 100% IV.
This is important: You must trade the Crypto Pokémon and only then purify them. This only works if it has 13 or more in each stat after the trade. You can see this well in the new evaluation system.
Is this intended? The chance of a Pokémon with 100% IV is now extremely high. This raises the suspicion that it was not intended and will be changed again.
So definitely take this chance to get many 100s now.
