Why is leveling during the event so easy? During the Adventure Week, you will receive 10 times the experience points when spinning new PokéStops. If you use a Lucky Egg, you will even get 20 times the XP.
When you also consider the additional XP gained during the event through friendships, raids, or catching Pokémon, you can level up faster than ever before.
How to get the most XP from the event
How can you earn the most XP? The 20 times XP is only available for newly spun PokéStops. So if you live in a small town and have spun everything in your area, you should travel to other cities.
Visit your neighboring towns and spin around the city there. Don’t forget the Lucky Egg, because otherwise, you will only get 10 times the experience points.
Where can I find the most PokéStops? Many PokéStops within a small area are mostly found in city centers. If you walk through the old town there, you will likely encounter the most Stops.
How do I recognize new PokéStops? If you have never spun a PokéStop, you can tell by a circle around the PokéStop. If you have spun it already, there will be no circle anymore.
This is how fast you can reach level 40: You can earn 4,200 XP for each newly spun PokéStop while you have a Lucky Egg. For every 10th stop, you can even earn more XP.
You can reach level 40 if you spin about 4,380 PokéStops, assuming you only caught the starter Pokémon and did nothing else with your account. This was already achieved by a German trainer last year.
If you are already at level 30 or even higher, you can naturally achieve the maximum level with fewer stops.
This is how it gets even easier: Not only spinning PokéStops will help you progress. Increasing friendship levels also provides a lot of XP. If you also diligently catch Pokémon and complete some raids, you should reach level 40 even faster.
This is what you need to consider when leveling up: Having a higher level in Pokémon GO doesn’t really bring anything. Pokémon in the wild only spawn up to level 30 or level 35 with weather bonuses. So having a higher level doesn’t mean you encounter stronger Pokémon in the wild.
It can also distort the game quite a bit if you level up quickly, but can’t keep up with your Pokémon. In the end, XP is not the most important thing, but the stardust so you can power your Pokémon up to such a strong level.
The stardust is not gained by spinning PokéStops, but mainly by catching Pokémon.
