In Pokémon GO the event “A Leisurely Discovery” is coming soon. It revolves around slow Pokémon and prominently features new forms of Psyduck.
When does the event start? “A Leisurely Discovery” begins on Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at 10:00 AM and remains active until Sunday, June 13, 2021, at 8:00 PM.
True to its name, the event will primarily highlight leisurely Pokémon – although, according to the announcement, there will also be some very active Pokémon. However, the star of the event is Psyduck, which will receive a new form and evolution.
New Galar and Mega Forms for Psyduck
These forms are coming to the game: With the event, the Galar variant of Psyduck is making its debut in Pokémon GO. The monster is easily recognizable by its colorful appearance.
At the same time, the Galar form of Golduck will be available, one of Psyduck’s evolutions. This monster brings the type combination of Poison and Psychic, but can only be evolved in a special way: To get it, you must catch 30 Poison-type Pokémon while having Galar-Psyduck as your buddy. Similar evolution requirements were seen recently with monsters like Pam-Pam or the new Eevee evolution Feelinara.
Another form of Psyduck, Galar-Golduck, will not be available yet. This will apparently come to the game at a later date.
New Mega Evolution Coming: The Galar forms of Psyduck are not the only new variant of the monster in Pokémon GO. Its Mega Evolution “Mega-Golduck” will also be available for the first time during the event and will appear in Mega Raids. Mega Energy for the monster can also be obtained from special field research tasks during the event.
These Pokémon are also involved: Besides Psyduck and Golduck, other event spawns will define the “Leisurely Discovery.” These include:

In raids, you will find:
- Galar-Psyduck
- Alola-Grimer

These bonuses are available: In addition to the altered spawns, there is a thematic collection challenge around Psyduck. If you complete it, you will receive a Psyduck shirt for your avatar, 30 Ultra Balls, and 3,000 XP. You can get Psyduck stickers from PokéStops.
Additionally, there will be a free box in the shop giving you 20 Poké Balls, 10 Great Balls, and a King’s Rock.
