What kind of event is it? The Community Day takes place once a month. A Pokémon appears for a few hours almost everywhere in the game.
When is the Community Day? On Sunday, April 27, 2025. It runs from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
Which Pokémon will appear? The Pokémon of the day is called Gelatini. It is known as the “Fresh Snow” Pokémon and is not surprisingly an Ice-type monster. It also fits perfectly in April, as April does what it wants. But let’s hope that it does not snow on Community Day.
After all, you want to get out as much as possible on C-Day to catch as many specimens of the Pokémon as possible. After all, the shiny chance for Gelatini is increased during the event. And you obviously need a lot of candies, because Gelatini can evolve into Gelatroppo and Gelatwino.

During the event, you can look forward to the following bonuses:
- Increased shiny chance for Gelatini
- Triple catch XP
- Double catch candies and double chances for catch candies XL if you are Level 31
- During the event, incense and lures last for three hours, but not the adventure incense
- Snapshot surprises
- An additional special trade along with half the Stardust costs when trading
- There will also be a paid special research in the shop
Special Move: Starting from the event, Gelatwino will learn the move “Avalanche” when you evolve it. This special move is available until May 4, when you evolve Gelatroppo.
Time-Limited Research: The Community Day brings a time-limited research that rewards you with a Gelatini with a special background. It can be solved for as long as the special move: until Sunday, May 4, at 10:00 PM. The only important thing is that you log in during the Community Day, otherwise you won’t receive the research.
Showcases: During the event, you can participate in showcases with Gelatini. So try to catch a good specimen for that and establish yourself at the top of the leaderboard.
How do I make the most of the Community Day with Gelatini?
Is catching worth it? Unfortunately not for fighters. Both Gelatini, Gelatroppo, and Gelatwino are more suitable as sundaes rather than fighters. Unfortunately, this applies in both raids and the PvP league. The small ice Pokémon are sadly just as harmless as they appear.
However: From a collector’s perspective, catching is still worth it. After all, you have a higher chance of getting a shiny. You should grab that if you want to fill your shiny dex.
What items should I prepare? As always, you should check which items are worth it during the Community Day. This time, the most important bonus relates to XP. This means:
- With a lucky egg, you can get double the amount of XP per catch. So you’ll be at a sixfold multiplier – which is worth it if you’re looking to level up.
- Pinap Berries increase the number of candies per catch.
- You also need a lot of Poké Balls to catch many specimens.
- Also consider the extended duration of incense and lures. By the way, the “Sweet Discoveries” event is currently running, which you can use to get the new apples with mossy lures. This should also work on Community Day, and the duration is increased to 3 hours.
What happens next? The “Sweet Discoveries” will run until Tuesday, and as mentioned, you also have about a week for the time-limited research.
