In Pokémon GO the Spring event is currently running, and it brings you modified contents in the 2-km eggs. Now trainers on reddit show how rare the best Pokémon from these eggs really are. We at MeinMMO took a look at this and show it to you.
Which Pokémon is it about? Since April 12, the Spring event has been running in Pokemon GO. In this event, you can encounter not only some new spawns and wilderness but also the new legendary raid boss Kapu-Toro as well as modified contents in 2-km eggs.
This includes among others costumed Pokémon like Togepi with a flower crown, but also rare specimens like Riolu. The event has been underway for some time now, and many trainers have already diligently hatched event eggs. Now they are sharing their experiences on reddit and showing how often they really got Riolu from the 2-km eggs.
Chances of getting Riolu from the eggs in the Spring event
As the reddit user GothamReigns states in his reddit post, he has hatched 206 2-km event eggs so far and shows a statistic on how these are distributed among the individual Pokémon. He also included the frequency of Shinys in his data. His rates were as follows (via reddit.com):

Of these hatched Pokémon, he was able to secure a total of 4 Shinys: one each of Fluffeluff, Pichu, Togepi, and Riolu.
Are there further data? Other trainers also share similar results in the comments. They have also recorded the monsters from the 2-km eggs and show how often they have gotten Riolu. For example, DaybreakHorizon was happy to have 2 Riolu from a total of 54 hatched eggs (via reddit.com). This corresponds to a rate of about 3.7 %.
Other trainers, however, had less luck regarding Riolu. For instance, YesilFasulye could not secure a single Riolu from 60 eggs. The same applies to Own_Fortune_6940, who hatched 18 2-km eggs (via reddit.com).
Also among the reports of these trainers, especially monsters like Azurill, as well as Mampfaxo and Pichu were often present. Therefore, Riolu is thus alongside Klingplim the rarest Pokémon from the event eggs. This is also indicated by the overview from Niantic regarding the probabilities that you find under the 2-km eggs. So you will mainly have chances of Azurill, Fluffeluff, and Pichu when hatching.
Is it worth hatching the 2-km eggs with Riolu at all?
Even if Riolu is currently very rare to find in these eggs, you should still take the opportunity. The fighting Pokémon is the pre-evolution to Lucario, which is among the top 10 fighting attackers in Pokémon GO.
Normally, Riolu can only be obtained from 10-km eggs. Thus, the event eggs are a good opportunity to secure one or another Riolu. Additionally, the hatching distance is currently reduced.
Thus, you only have to walk 1 kilometer with a regular incubator to hatch a 2-km egg. Therefore, you can hatch significantly more eggs in a short time than is usually the case with 10-km eggs. Thus, you have more opportunities to encounter one during the event.
