In Pokémon GO, many trainers are currently hunting Shiny Gimmighoul. However, it arrived late – and it probably won’t last long.
Which Shiny is it about? Currently, the big party for the 9th anniversary of Pokémon GO is happening. Various bonuses are available during the event. One of them: Shiny Gimmighoul has made its first appearance in the game.
The event started on July 1 and runs until Sunday, July 6. Then it will end at 8:00 PM.
And then, according to the current status, it seems that Shiny Gimmighoul will also come to an end. This is suggested by a recent message from the development team.
Pokémon GO activates Gimmighoul late, and you should hurry
As the Niantic Support reported on social media, the shiny Gimmighoul did not appear on the first day of the anniversary event. Because of this, it is supposed to remain available for one more day.
A slightly more detailed version of the message is currently making the rounds in the Subreddit for Pokémon GO. It is clearly specified there that Shiny Gimmighoul will now be catchable until Monday, July 7, at 8:00 PM. You can attract the Pokémon using the coin pouch, or you might find it at a golden PokéStop where a golden lure module is active – if you are lucky.
This, however, does not apply to the special Gimmighoul that is currently roaming around with the coin for the 9th anniversary.
What’s the catch? In the comments, some users point out that this message also ultimately confirms what some have already suspected: Shiny Gimmighoul is apparently only catchable during this event. After that, according to the current status, it will probably be deactivated again.
This would mean that you actually only have time until Monday evening to obtain it. After that, you’ll have to wait until a new event brings the shiny Gimmighoul variant back.
This would place Gimmighoul in a category of Pokémon that can only be obtained in shiny form at certain times. Another example of this would be the shiny Oddish or Meltan.
