What kind of event is this? The Community Day takes place every month and brings you countless spawns of a specific event Pokémon for a few hours. It will appear everywhere and also has an increased shiny chance.
Community Days are the ideal opportunity to collect strong specimens, the shiny form, and the necessary candies for the event Pokémon. Plus, there are always bonuses on top.

Community Day in February 2024 with Chaneira – Start & Bonuses of the Event
When? Sunday, February 4, 2024 – From 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM
Exclusive Attack: Electric Shock for Heiteira if you evolve it by 10:00 PM at the latest
Bonuses:
– Increased shiny chance for Chaneira
– Wonneira hatches from 2 km eggs, with an increased shiny chance
– Double catch candies
– Four times the hatch speed for eggs
– Twice the chance for XL candies starting at level 31
– Incense and lures last for 3 hours (not the daily adventure incense)

Bonuses until 10:00 PM local time:
– One additional special trade
– 50% less stardust costs when trading
What else happens during the Community Day? After the Community Day, you can participate in 4-star raids where you can battle Chaneira. If you defeat it, more Chaneira will spawn around the gym for 30 minutes, which also have an increased shiny chance. These raids run from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
Note: You can only complete them on-site, not with remote raids. Additionally, Chaneira as a level 4 boss will likely have a lot of health, so you will probably need two or more trainers with suitable counters to defeat it. It is weak against fighting-type attacks; some of the best attackers in Pokémon GO can be found here.

Who is the Community Day with Chaneira worth it for?
For collectors: You have the chance to secure the shiny variant of Chaneira, which is already exciting. You also have an increased chance for shiny Wonneira from eggs. That is quite rare and could be worth it over the weekend.
For fighters: In terms of offense, there is bad news: Neither Chaneira, nor Wonneira or Heiteira are relevant in the PvP battle league or as attackers against raids. If you’re looking for a strong attacker, you are in the wrong place.
However, the situation is different on the defensive side, as Chaneira and Heiteira are very popular gym defenders who can be quite annoying when you want to take over a gym. If you have a strong specimen here, it could be worth it as a defender.
How to prepare for the Community Day in February 2024
Make space: As always, you need to tidy up your Pokémon box before starting the Community Day. Because if you have enough space in your storage, you won’t have to constantly send monsters while you are actually on a catching spree.

Prepare items: With the right items, you can get even more out of the Community Day.

- Incubator: One of the best bonuses on C-Day with Chaneira is the fourfold hatch speed. However, it only works for eggs that you place in the incubator during the event—if you already have some active, they will not be shortened. So make sure that your incubator is empty at the start of the event.
- Incense and lure module: You only need one item each to cover the entire event period. Use incense especially when you’re on the go, and the lure module if you’re staying in one place. With both, you attract more monsters.
Which mega Pokémon should I activate? If you have a Mega Pokémon with the “Normal” type activated, you get an additional candy and more XP per Chaneira catch. The following are suitable:
- Mega-Kangaskhan
- Mega-Lopunny
- Mega-Pidgeot
