In Pokémon GO there’s Shiny Celebi through the special research “A Shimmering Distraction”. We show you all the tasks and rewards here in the guide.
What kind of research is this? In cooperation with the Pokémon movie “Secrets of the Jungle”, Pokémon GO started an event about Jessie, James, and Shiny Celebi.
The research “A Shimmering Distraction” is said to be time-limited by Niantic, but the end date is still unknown. It consists of four chapters. We show you every step you need to solve and every reward you will receive for it.
Shimmering Distraction 1/4

Stage reward: If you successfully complete all three tasks of this chapter, you will receive 500 Stardust, 1,000 XP, and an encounter with Digda.
Shimmering Distraction 2/4

| Take a snapshot with a Plant Pokémon | Encounter with Wadribie |
| Give your buddy 10 snacks | Encounter with Kikugi |
Stage reward: If you successfully complete all three tasks of this chapter, you will receive 500 Stardust, 1,000 XP, and an encounter with Pinsir.
Shimmering Distraction 3/4

Update 12:14 PM: As it turns out, the Meowth balloons with Jessie and James are only rarely found in the game. Niantic may adjust the frequency of this encounter. Right now it seems to happen randomly whether you encounter a Grunt balloon from Team GO Rocket or a Meowth balloon appears.
