Do you want to climb to level 44 in Pokémon GO? Then get ready for a lot of battles! Here you will find tips for leveling up.
This is Level 44: Since the end of December 2020, when the GO Beyond update was released, players can break the old level cap of 40 and climb higher. Level 50 is the new limit – but the steps to get there are not easy.
Instead of just farming XP, you also have to complete some challenges. What exactly you need to do for Level 44 is summarized here.
Level 44 – Tasks, Requirements, Rewards
You need this many XP: XP is probably what will take you the longest on your way to Level 44 if you don’t already have them. In total, you need to have 53.5 million XP to reach Level 44. There is a total of 11 million XP between Level 43 and 44.
To gather this, you basically need to play a lot. An effective way to farm XP is through building friendships in Pokémon GO, as well as completing legendary raids. In general, every Pokémon you catch gives you XP, and especially excellent throws quickly fill your XP account. Recently, there have been some changes in this regard: Here you can find all activities that now give more XP.
In general, it is advisable to take advantage of events that provide double XP. This occurs during certain spotlight hours, or also on selected Community Days. If you also activate a lucky egg during this time, you can even get quadruple XP. Here, you should time it right.

In addition to the XP, you also need to complete these 4 tasks:

Tips for Level 44 – How to do it quickly
How to win the battles: Basically, you can hold battles in the GO Battle League. There, you can choose between Super League, Ultra League, and Master League. If you are also aiming for the rewards of the PvP League, you can hold your matches there. This way, you also automatically complete the fourth task.
Good Pokémon for this are for example:
- Super League: Azumarill, Galarian Stunfisk, Swampert, Altaria
- Ultra League: Cresselia, Swampert, Giratina, Registeel
- Master League: Groudon, Melmetal, Dialga, Giratina

How to do it faster: If you just want to finish the battles quickly, you can challenge your friends and help each other win. Select them from the friends menu and then battle in the appropriate league.
If you coordinate, you can finish the battles very quickly. One trainer can just use a team with very low CP and quickly lose the battle. If both need the wins to level up, you can take turns.
Then there are still the 20 matches in the Battle League. You just need to participate; you don’t have to win them. Therefore, the tasks of the level can really be completed in a very short time. Only the XP will take a while if you don’t have them yet.
