How to make the most of Community Day
What you should know: If you use incense or lure modules during the event time from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, they will last for three hours and attract many Seemops during the event.
How to prepare: The event lasts for 6 hours and brings you a lot of Pokémon encounters. To avoid having to clear your collection every few minutes, we recommend creating enough space in your Pokémon inventory beforehand. The tag function in Pokémon GO is very helpful for sorting your collection.
If you have enough space, you will need many balls. Poké Balls, Great Balls, Ultra Balls – the full program. Ideally, you should have about 300 or 400 balls that you want to use for catching Seemops. If you want to take the event seriously, you should collect even more balls.
Which items are worth it?
- If you want to evolve many Seemops, you need a lot of candy. So catch with Nanab Berries and use incense and lure modules
- If you want to earn a lot of XP, you should activate Lucky Eggs as well. They additionally increase your XP bonus when catching in addition to the event bonus. It’s also a good idea to level up your friendships on this day to receive strong bonuses.
If you want to get even more out of the event, consider using Star Pieces during the many Pokémon encounters, as they increase the Stardust you receive.
Is the Community Day with Seemops worth it?
How strong are Seemops and its evolutions: Seemops can evolve into Seel and then into Walraisa. To assess how worthwhile the Community Day is, we looked at the strength of all three Pokémon:
- Seemops is not particularly interesting in PvP for Trainer Battles or in PvE for Raids.
- Seel is only somewhat competitive in the Super League in PvP, but has no role in the other leagues. In Raids, Seel is not interesting.
- Walraisa, on the other hand, is exciting in PvP, as it can learn new moves.
- Update from January 15: It is now known how strong Walraisa becomes with the new move Ice Spear. Especially in PvP, Walraisa will be quite powerful.
Secure the moves: To secure the special moves for Walraisa, you must evolve Walraisa during the event or up to two hours afterward.
Who is the event worth it for? For pure raid players, the event is not really interesting, as there are far stronger attackers for raid battles. We show an overview of the strongest attackers in Pokémon GO here.
PvP players will benefit better, as Walraisa with the new moves could succeed in PvP. Make sure to secure some specimens with strong stats during the event.
Shiny collectors will likely be able to secure a few specimens at this event.
Participation is also worthwhile for all trainers who are still in the leveling phase and need to collect a lot of XP.
