Due to the multitude of Pokémon and event attacks, you should carefully consider which monsters you want to catch for Community Day. In the following article, we have summarized the best Pokémon for you.
How to Make the Most of Community Day in December 2021
What preparations should you make? As with any other Community Day, you need to clear space in your Pokémon box beforehand to minimize the sorting you have to do during the event.
Additionally, you will need numerous balls to catch on this day. Gather these now by spinning at PokéStops or opening gifts. Through the current Christmas event, you can open up to 45 gifts a day. Make sure to take advantage of this, as it’s the easiest way to ensure you have balls.
Depending on how much and how actively you want to play, you should have at least 350 balls saved up for each day. This way you can start catching for a while without needing to immediately replenish your supply.
Which items are important for Community Day?
Unlike what you may be used to from regular C-Days, during this one, you will find not just one specific monster in the wild. You can potentially encounter up to 25 different Pokémon, which are available to you through Niantic in various ways.
Depending on which monsters you want to secure, you will need the corresponding items. In addition to the numerous balls for catching, it is also advisable to have incense and lures ready. You will need up to 2 of each per day.
To get as many candies as possible, it is also advisable to have a supply of Nanab Berries. During the event, you will already receive double XP and double Stardust for catching Pokémon. You can further increase this by using Star Pieces and Lucky Eggs, each of which lasts for 30 minutes.
For raids, you should also have enough raid passes prepared. If you prefer to make use of the shorter hatch distance of the eggs, you should preferably hatch several eggs at once, which means you may need one or more incubators as well.
What is particularly worthwhile for Community Day?
During Community Day, you can encounter numerous strong monsters that are great for use in raids or the PvP league. Pokémon like Luxray and Flygon, for example, are amongst the best attackers in Pokémon GO.
Therefore, it is best to think ahead about which Pokémon you still need and which ones you want a strong specimen or candies for. It is also advisable to utilize the trading bonuses and actively trade Pokémon with your friends. This way, you also have the chance for a lucky Pokémon. The additional special trade you have daily can be optimally used for your lucky friends.
But you should also not overlook the other bonuses for the event. You will receive double Stardust and XP for catching monsters. Therefore, Community Day is the perfect opportunity to farm a lot of Stardust and XP.
And you should also take advantage of the reduced hatch distance. If you don’t want the event Pokémon from the 2-km eggs, you can instead opt for the 10- and 12-km eggs, which include some rare specimens. Which monsters you can currently find in the 12-km eggs have been summarized in another article.
Of course, shiny hunters will also find what they’re looking for during this event. Each of the Pokémon for Community Day is also available in their shiny form.
