Crypto-Groudon – Appearance, Strength, and Shiny
What kind of Pokémon is Groudon? Groudon is a legendary ground-type Pokémon from the 3rd generation of games. It has no pre-evolutions or further developments, but it can temporarily change its normal form into a proto-form. You can recognize the monster by its large, red, armored body as well as its sharp, white horns and claws.
How strong is Crypto-Groudon: The legendary ground-type Pokémon not only possesses high stats in attack, stamina, and defense but also has strong attacks that will benefit you in battle. It ranks among the best attackers of its type with a combination of Mud Shot and Precipice Blades . It can also score well in the GO Battle League with a moveset of Mud Shot, Precipice Blades, and Fire Punch, making it a must-have in your team.
As a Crypto Pokémon, its attack value is further increased, which can give you an advantage, especially in raids, as it causes more damage to the opponent. However, its defense simultaneously becomes weaker, making it not last as long in battle. For raids, it remains an optimal choice. In the Master League, however, the normal form is slightly better.
Since Crypto Pokémon initially receive the charged attack Frustration, you should have them forget it and equip a better attack.
Is there a Shiny-Groudon? Groudon does exist in its shiny form in the game; however, this will not yet be active for the Crypto variant. In battle against Giovanni, you can initially only secure the normal Crypto form of Groudon. When Crypto-Groudon will also be available as Shiny is currently unclear.
How to Obtain Crypto-Groudon
How can you catch Crypto-Groudon? To secure a specimen of the legendary Crypto Pokémon, you must first find the Rocket boss Giovanni. To do this, you need a corresponding Super Rocket Radar, which you will obtain from the special research A Rocket World
for the Rocket Takeover. Experience shows that you will have to battle against other members of Team GO Rocket in this process.
Once you have obtained the Super Rocket Radar, you can track down Giovanni once and challenge him to battle. If you defeat him, you will have the opportunity to catch his legendary Crypto-Groudon. However, remember that your balls are limited, so there is no guaranteed catch.

How long do you have to catch? Crypto-Groudon will be available in Giovanni’s team starting March 27 and usually stays until the next Rocket takeover. When this will be is still unknown at this time.
