What’s going on in Pokémon GO? On February 18, the event “Tumbling Purmel” starts. It runs until February 20 and offers some good content.

What is the most important bonus? As part of the event, the total number of guaranteed lucky trades is increased from 25 to 35. Additionally, Pokémon caught in 2019 (or earlier) will now also trigger one of these guaranteed lucky trades. Previously, this was only possible for monsters from 2018 or older.

What makes the guaranteed lucky trade so valuable and how does it work?
This is the lucky trade: A lucky trade between two trainers ensures that both traded Pokémon transform into what’s called a “lucky Pokémon.” These have minimum stats of 12/12/12, which is already strong. However, there is also a good chance that they will get even better stats and with a little more luck, you might even receive a four-star Pokémon.
Additionally, these Pokémon have 50% reduced stardust costs when leveling up. In short: You receive strong monsters that you can enhance even further for fewer resources.
Normally, these lucky trades are either randomly triggered or when you have reached the status of “Lucky Friends”. But now there are also the guaranteed lucky trades.
What is the guaranteed lucky trade? These are triggered by Pokémon that have a certain age. From the Purmel event onwards, this applies to all monsters caught in 2019 or earlier. Tip: You can filter the years using the terms “Year2019”, “Year2018”, etc.
The important thing is that there is a limit per trainer on how often this can occur. From the event onwards, it’s 35 times. But: If you have already completed 25 guaranteed lucky trades, you will now only get 10 more – not another 35.
Through the guaranteed lucky trade, you can ultimately exchange some of your old monsters for those from other trainers. It is sufficient for one of the traded monsters to come from the respective demanded year – so it can also be an “old” traded for a “new”. It is important to note that the guaranteed lucky trade counts towards both trainers’ limits. Good options for such a lucky trade are, by the way, the best attackers in Pokémon GO.
