All information about the Raid Hour with Giratina
When does the event start? The event starts at 6:00 PM local time. Most raids will hatch then and will remain active for exactly one hour. Some latecomers will end only after 7:00 PM.
What are the best counters? The Origin Form of Giratina is vulnerable to Dragon, Ghost, Dark, Ice, and Fairy types. So you have plenty of counter options.
Here is a list of the currently best counters:
| Pokémon | Moveset |
| Rayquaza | Dragon Tail and Outrage |
| Palkia | Dragon Tail and Draco Meteor |

How many trainers are needed for Giratina? You can defeat the Pokémon easily with just 3 trainers – this is possible even at level 25.
For the Raid Hour, we recommend at least 5-6 trainers. This way, you will be much faster and can complete more raids in the hour.
Is there a Shiny Giratina? Yes! Since October 2020, you can catch the Origin Form of Giratina as a Shiny. You can easily recognize the difference, as the Shiny is bluish:
Why this hour will be so great: On one hand, you have a good chance of getting the new Shiny. Many trainers are likely still missing this Shiny, and here you can complete over 10 raids in an hour.
Additionally, the Origin Form of Giratina is among the best attackers in the game. It is the best Ghost attacker and is useful for several raids. Moreover, it is also a solid attacker in the PvP League.
