In Pokémon GO the Rocket takeover is running. Sierra, Arlo and Cliff have brought new Pokémon – and trainers already know exactly which ones they want.

- Also, the bosses Arlo, Sierra and Cliff have new monsters with them.
So you have new challenges ahead of you again. But which of the bosses should you attack? In the Pokémon GO subreddit “TheSilphRoad,” trainers have a clear favorite.
Sierra with Crypto-Tanhel is the most exciting opponent, say trainers
Why do trainers want to fight Sierra? Sierra brings the new Pokémon Crypto-Tanhel with her. This is a very popular target among trainers, as its evolution, Metagross, is one of the strongest attackers in the game.
Additionally, some players are after the shiny variant of Crypto-Tanhel, which can be obtained with luck from a battle with Sierra.
She seems to be the primary target for players right now:
- “Poor Sierra is becoming a target,” says one user (via reddit).
- “The friendship with Cliff and Arlo is over, now Sierra is my new best friend” (via reddit).
- “Sierra will be solely responsible for me finishing my 1100 missing Rocket battles for the medal” (via reddit).
- “Crypto-Tanhel, let’s go! I’m so excited to get Crypto-Metagross. That’s 100% one of the OP-Pokémon for PvE” (via reddit).
- “Sierra is a top priority,” says a user, “Is Crypto-Magnezone good too?” (via reddit).

What about Cliff and Arlo? With Crypto-Magnezone, we arrive at Cliff, as he now has Crypto-Magnetilo with him. The crypto version of Magnezone may be surpassed by some other electric Pokémon, but it is still among the best electric attackers in the game.
This makes it a good candidate for raids and Cliff certainly remains interesting:
- “We may all be hunting Sierra,” writes a user: “But Cliff is a wonderful side quest” (via reddit).
Arlo, on the other hand, is number 3 on the priority list for many players. The boss brings Crypto-Nidoran, which will evolve into Nidoking. This basically plays no role in battles. Only a few trainers hope for the shiny version in the comments.

Can I choose the boss? Only to a certain extent, as which bosses appear at your stops or in Rocket balloons is ultimately left to chance. However, if you are looking for a specific boss, such as Sierra, you can ignore the Rocket encounter with “wrong” bosses.
This allows you to search for the right bosses at a later time or at another PokéStop. A Rocket Radar will only be consumed when the battle against Arlo, Sierra or Cliff is finished. So you can easily click on the encounter and check who is hiding there.
