What is a Spotlight Hour? In Pokémon GO, there is usually a special hour once a week where a specific Pokémon is in the spotlight and spawns more frequently in the wild.
Since Hoopa, the mysterious creature, is causing some mischief due to the current Hoopa event, this short Spotlight Hour is also happening daily during the event. Today, you will encounter the Electric-type Pokémon Pikachu.
Spotlight Hour with Pikachu – Start and Bonuses
When does the Spotlight Hour begin? As in the past two days, the short event will also start today, November 28, 2021, at 12:00 PM local time. After an hour, at 1:00 PM, the Pikachu spawns will disappear.
Is there a bonus? Like every Spotlight Hour, the spawn rate is increased, and you will encounter many Pikachu. If you also use a lure, you will attract even more specimens.
Unfortunately, there will be no additional bonus today. However, you can benefit from the XP and candy bonus of the Hoopa event, just like in the past days.
Is there a Shiny Pikachu? Yes, with some luck, you can encounter a Shiny Pikachu. It is slightly darker than the regular Pikachu.
Is the Spotlight Hour with Pikachu worth it?
Is it strong? Pikachu is an Electric-type Pokémon from the first generation and can evolve into Raichu. Both Pikachu and Raichu are not among the best attackers in Pokémon GO. And they also do not play a significant role in the PvP League (via pvpoke.com).
Who should take advantage of the Spotlight Hour? The Spotlight Hour is especially worthwhile today for Shiny hunters. If, however, you are looking for a strong Pokémon for raids or the GO Battle League, you should rather seek out other monsters.
