In Pokémon GO you now encounter Legios in Dynamax battles. How to defeat the monster?
What’s happening in Pokémon GO? October in Pokémon GO has begun and with it new monsters are available. Specifically: In the Dynamax battles, other Pokémon are around.
At level 1, these are the starters from the Galar region: Hopplo, Chimpep and Memmeon. Like Bulbasaur, Squirtle and Charmander before them, they are quite easy to defeat.
Things look different at level 3. Now the fighting Pokémon Legios can be found. And it is not easy to crack.

How to defeat and catch Dynamax-Legios?
Can you defeat Legios alone? As of now, it is possible, but not easy. Here we summarize a few tips for the battle against Legios.
Tip 1: Use the right counters
Legios, being a fighting Pokémon, is weak against flying and psychic type attacks. So focus on the following Dynamax monsters:
- Charizard with the Dynamax attack Dyna-Airstream of the flying type
- Metagross with the Dynamax attack Kyna-Kinesis of the psychic type
How do I get the attacks? Use Instant TMs to change the instant attacks of the two Pokémon to a flying attack for Charizard or a psychic attack for Metagross, if they don’t have them yet. The Dynamax attack takes on the type of your monster’s instant attack.
Tip 2: Strengthen your counters

Keep in mind: Strengthening your monsters can cost a lot of candies. So think carefully about whether you want to do that.
Tip 3: Switch during the fight
Legios destroys your monsters before you can Dynamax them? Then use other Pokémon while the Dynamax gauge is not yet filled. Fill the gauge as much as possible and then switch to your strong counter just before the Dynamaxing is carried out. This way, your Pokémon can enter the battle with more health.
Tip 4: Get support
If you can’t do it alone, you still have the option to join other trainers in the Dynamax battle. What can also help: If you visit power sources with Legios battles, where many Dynamax Pokémon have already been defeated. They give you a bonus in your fight.
Is Legios worth it?
Legios just had a raid day, where you could secure the shiny quite well for example. In Dynamax battles you also have the chance at the shiny, but it is not increased.
More importantly, the point is that with Legios you get a combat attacker that can Dynamax. And that could become quite important if future Dynamax bosses are weak against the fighting type. Then Legios could be exactly the monster you need – at least until an even better alternative is available. Therefore, one should probably secure at least one specimen.
