What kind of Pokémon is Karnimani? Karnimani is the Water starter of the second Pokémon generation. The small crocodile evolves into Tyracroc and then into Impergator.
Is the Community Day Classic with Karnimani worth it?
Is Karnimani strong? Well, Impergator is.
- Impergator is one of the best Pokémon in the PvP League. It performs very well in the Super League, both in the normal and the Shadow variant. The monster also impresses in the Hyper League. In the Master League, it at least has a niche.
- In raid and gym battles, Impergator is one of the top Water-type attackers. The Shadow version, in particular, can score with strong stats.
Centrally important for its strength is the move Hydro Pump. You can obtain it during the event if you evolve Tyracroc into Impergator during the event or by March 29, 2025, at 10:00 PM.
Can Karnimani be shiny? Of course! The shiny Karnimani has been in the game for a long time, and so have its evolutions. During the Community Day Classic, you will have an increased shiny chance as always and can secure it well if you plan a little walk to the event.

How to prepare for the Community Day Classic in March 2025
As always, there are a few things you can consider to make the most out of the event.
Make space: If your Pokémon storage is full, you can’t catch many Karnimani or have to sort through them during the event. That’s frustrating when you want to walk around and catch Pokémon. So make enough space beforehand.
What kind of stats should I look for? Do you want a 4-star Karnimani? This makes sense if you want to send it into battle against gyms or raids. However, keep in mind that for the PvP League, you typically want Pokémon with lower attack stats. Specifically, four stars are not suitable for a strong PvP Impergator, while it should have four stars as a raid attacker. You can read here why you don’t want perfect stats in the battle league.
What items do I need? You should prepare a few items:
- Poké Balls: Have enough, preferably Ultra or Great Balls.
- Sananaberries: You can double the candy count with these.
- Lure module and incense: Both last three hours and attract Pokémon.
- Incubator: Ideally, it should be empty at the start of the event. Then you can place an egg in it that benefits from the quarter distance.
Which Mega Pokémon should I activate? If you activate a Water-type Mega Pokémon, you will receive an extra candy when catching Karnimani. The following are suitable:
- Mega Blastoise
- Mega Gyarados
- Mega Swampert
- Primal Kyogre
