In Pokémon GO the Community Day takes place on the weekend. We explain how you can now prepare to collect a good amount of Stardust.
What kind of event is this? During the Community Day with Knofensa, which takes place on Saturday, April 20, 2024, from 14:00 to 17:00, there will be some bonuses active in addition to Knofensa. One of the bonuses is that you will receive triple the amount of Stardust when you catch Pokémon.
Due to the current season World Full of Wonders
and the Event Bugging Encounter
, which will continue until April 17 at 20:00, you have the opportunity to collect a nice amount of Stardust on Community Day with the right preparation.
Complete Field Research, Save Rewards
How does it work? In Pokémon GO, there are some Pokémon that generally give you more Stardust when caught than the usual amount. Both from the current season World Full of Wonders
and the Bugging Encounter
event, there are some Field Research tasks that can reward you with such Pokémon.
Once you have completed such Field Research tasks, you can claim them and encounter a Pokémon. If it is a Pokémon that gives more Stardust, you should not catch it. Instead, back out of the catch screen and save the catching of the Pokémon for Community Day. You can collect up to 100 such Pokémon encounters.
To redeem the rewards on Community Day, simply go to the screen with the Field Research tasks and click on Claim Rewards
at the top.
If you catch the Pokémon there, you will receive triple the amount of Stardust for that Pokémon. If you also activate a Star Piece, you can further increase the total and receive even 4.5 times the amount of Stardust. For example, if you use this combination on a Sableye, the amount of Stardust increases from 750 to 2,250 or 3,375 with the use of a Star Piece.
Which Field Research tasks are worth it? Currently, there are three Field Research tasks where you can encounter a Pokémon with a higher amount of Stardust. Note that there are also other Pokémon you can receive as rewards. If that is the case, you can catch those Pokémon immediately and save the ones with the additional Stardust for Community Day.
- Land three Curveball throws: Paras, 500 Stardust (only available until the end of the
Bugging Encounter
event) - Defeat three Team GO Rocket Grunts: Sableye, 750 Stardust
- Hatch an egg: Trubbish, 750 Stardust
What do you think about it? Will you go out and complete the corresponding Field Research tasks? Do you generally save Pokémon encounters from Field Research for specific events?
