In Pokémon GO, there are two Raid days in March where you can secure a really strong legendary attacker. We have summarized which monsters these are and what other content awaits you here at MeinMMO.
What event is it? For some time now, Pokémon GO has been hosting so-called Raid days at irregular intervals. During these, a previously selected Raid Boss is the focus and appears more frequently in the corresponding raids for a period of 3 hours. Additionally, there will be one or two bonuses waiting for you.
In March, there will be two of these events, which will also bring back the two Proto-Pokémon Kyogre and Groudon. When you can find which legendary Pokémon, what bonuses await you, and whether the Raid Bosses are worth it, we have summarized below.
Raid Day with Proto-Kyogre – Times & Bonuses
When is the Raid Day? The Raid Day with Proto-Kyogre will take place on March 17, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The monster will appear more frequently in the raids during this time and can also be played in remote raids. After a raid, you can catch Kyogre in its normal form.
What bonuses await you? In addition to the numerous raids with Proto-Kyogre, you can look forward to the following bonuses:
- up to 5 free Raid Passes when spinning the photo disc at gyms
- increased Shiny chance when catching Kyogre
- increased remote raid limit to 20 per day (from March 17, 2024, at 1:00 AM to March 18, 2024, at 4:00 AM)
- paid event ticket with additional bonuses
What’s included in the event ticket? If the free bonuses are not enough for you, you can also purchase a paid event ticket in the in-game shop. This costs around 5.00 Euros and gives you access to additional bonuses. You can expect the following on March 17, 2024, between 2:00 PM and 10:00 PM local time:
- up to 8 additional Raid Passes when spinning photo discs at gyms
- increased chance for XL special candies in raids
- 50% more XP in raids
- double Stardust in raids
Raid Day with Proto-Groudon – Times & Bonuses
When is the Raid Day? The Raid Day with Proto-Groudon will take place on March 23, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM local time. Just like Kyogre during the Raid Day the week before, Groudon will also appear more frequently in the raids during the event. After the event, Groudon will be waiting to be caught in its regular form. You can again participate in these raids via remote raid.
What bonuses await you? Proto-Groudon will not only be found in many raids but also has the following bonuses for you:
- up to 5 free Raid Passes when spinning the photo disc at gyms
- increased Shiny chance when catching Groudon
- increased remote raid limit to 20 per day (from March 23, 2024, at 1:00 AM to March 24, 2024, at 4:00 AM)
- paid event ticket with additional bonuses
What’s included in the event ticket? During the Raid Day with Proto-Groudon, you also have the opportunity to expand your bonuses by purchasing a corresponding event ticket. This also costs around 5.00 Euros in the in-game shop and offers the following additional bonuses on March 23, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM local time:
- up to 8 additional Raid Passes when spinning photo discs at gyms
- increased chance for XL special candies in raids
- 50% more XP in raids
- double Stardust in raids
Are the Raid Days with Proto-Kyogre & Proto-Groudon worth it?
What kind of Pokémon are these? The two Raid Bosses are the proto-forms of the legendary Water Pokémon Kyogre and the legendary Ground Pokémon Groudon from Generation 3. Both have no pre-evolutions or evolutions but have the ability to temporarily take on the said proto-form.
As with Mega Evolutions of other Pokémon, you also need corresponding Proto Energy for Kyogre and Groudon to trigger the Protomorphosis. You can collect this energy in the Proto Raids during the respective Raid Day and thereby temporarily trigger your own Proto evolution.
How strong are Kyogre and Groudon? Kyogre and Groudon already have enormous attack and defense values without their proto forms, making them some of the best attackers in Pokémon GO. Therefore, it is no surprise that they can be seen in both raids and the Master League of the GO Battle League.
In their proto form, they are even stronger, which makes them some of the best attackers of their respective types.
Are the Raid Days worth it? Yes, because the two Raid Days offer you a good opportunity to secure strong specimens of the two legendary Pokémon and farm corresponding Proto Energy. Due to their strength, they should not be missing from any team. Additionally, the Shiny chance on these days is increased for the respective Raid Boss, so especially Shiny hunters will get their money’s worth.
What do you think of the content of the two Raid Days? Which of the two Pokémon are you particularly aiming for? And will you also buy the event ticket? Feel free to let us know in the comments and exchange ideas with other trainers about it.
In the coming weeks, there will be a lot going on in Pokémon GO. We’ll show you all events in March and which ones are worth it.
