Which box is it about? Every week you have the opportunity to buy a box for one PokéCoin in the in-game shop of Pokémon GO. This has been in the game for quite some time and provided you with a valuable Remote Raid Pass until the start of the Season of GO weekly.
With the start of the new season, Niantic has temporarily banished the pass from the 1-Coin box and is now providing you with other changing items weekly. Last week, you could find a Smoke and a Magnetic Lure Module here.
The next box is already on the starting blocks, and there is already some information about its contents. We will show you which item you can look forward to from July 18.
All contents of the weekly box from July 18
Here’s what to expect in the box: As the Pokéminers, a group of data miners, announced on the evening of July 17 through their Twitter account, the contents of the next weekly box have now been embedded in the game code of Pokémon GO.
While there have only been 2 different items in the weekly box in the last two weeks, Niantic has further reduced these for the upcoming week. Therefore, you can expect the following item starting from July 18:
- 1x Rain Lure Module
Thus, since the change of the weekly box, you will find only a single item in it for the first time. Whether Niantic will keep this amount in the future or whether it will change weekly is currently unknown and remains to be seen. Nevertheless, this reduction has led to heavy criticism within the community.
When will the box be available? The weekly box will be available to you from July 18, 2022, at 06:00 local time in the in-game shop. There you have the chance to acquire it once for one PokéCoin.
How long do you have to redeem it? As you know from the past, the weekly box will be available for a whole week. You can redeem it until the release of the next weekly box on July 25.
Where can you find the box? You can find the box in your in-game shop of Pokémon GO. Here it is listed next to the other boxes of the game, directly at the top of the shop, under the name “weekly box”.
“I never thought we could sink deeper”
The changes regarding the weekly box have been causing intense criticism from trainers on social networks for weeks. And even the upcoming box cannot change many players’ opinions. This is mainly due to the fact that the number of items has been further reduced.
Some are disappointed and even demand that Niantic should abolish the box. As you can read in the comments on Twitter:

- jayyyyysonn: ‘It’s getting worse… and worse… and worse.’
- MemoI4M: ‘I miss the era of Remote Raid Passes.’
- MTemplar07: ‘Just stop with the boxes already.’
Positive reactions: But there are also a few trainers who can find something positive about the new box. The reason for this is the Rain Lure Module, which is rarely available for free in the game.
Alternatively, it can only be purchased for a fee in the in-game shop, where it costs 180 coins, about 1.80 euros. So players write on Twitter:
