Pokémon GO has announced the event “Groundbreaking Buddleia.” This brings a strong Pokémon and an interesting Shiny in the wild.
When does Groundbreaking Buddleia take place? The event starts on November 15, 2024, at 10:00 AM. It ends on November 17 at 8:00 PM.
What is the highlight? Essentially, there are two. The first is that you can encounter the Ground-Steel Pokémon Stalobor “with luck,” as stated in the announcement, in the wild – and also as a Shiny.
This is quite unusual because normally you can’t encounter evolutions in the wild as Shiny in Pokémon GO. Exceptions so far have primarily been Pokémon that also have a Mega Evolution – that was possible. However, Stalobor is the regular evolution of Rotomurf, without a Mega form. That it can appear as a Shiny in the wild is something special.
The second highlight is the Dynamax form of Rotomurf, which will appear in the event. As a level 1 Dyna-Boss, it should be easy to defeat. And that’s good because this Pokémon will be very useful as a counter against Dynamax and Gigantamax Riffex in the “Nature Zone” event.
We’ll outline what else is included in the event for you below.

What else is going on in Pokémon GO? Currently, the new Harvest Festival event is taking place, which can bring you Olini as a Shiny if you are lucky. However, a new special research titled “To the Next Level” has also started. However, it seems that only some trainers have received it and it is not yet entirely clear under what conditions you get it. You can read everything about the “To the Next Level” research in Pokémon GO here.
