Spotlight Hour on October 4
Which Pokémon? In the first Spotlight Hour of October 2022, you will encounter Furfrou. This Pokémon belongs to the Dark type and comes from the fifth generation. Its evolution is Kleoparda.
What bonuses do you get? For evolving Pokémon, you receive double the amount of XP.
Who is it worth it for? Neither in PvP (in Trainer battles) nor in PvE (in raids) are Furfrou or Kleoparda interesting. For cat lovers, the Spotlight Hour may be worth it. But not if you’re looking for strong attackers.
Can you catch Shiny Furfrou? No, Furfrou is not yet available as Shiny in Pokémon GO.
Spotlight Hour on October 11
Which Pokémon? The second Spotlight Hour in October 2022 brings you many Gengar spawns. The Pokémon is the evolution of Gastly and comes from the 1st generation. Gengar belongs to the Ghost and Poison types and can evolve from Haunter.
What bonuses do you get? For catching Pokémon, you receive double the amount of Stardust.
Who is it worth it for? The Spotlight Hour should be really worth it for most of you. Because Gengar’s evolution is strong and should not be missing in any collection. Can you catch Shiny Gengar? No. Although there is Shiny Gengar already in the game, you cannot catch evolved Pokémon as Shiny during the Spotlight Hour. However, those who secure a shiny Gastly can evolve it into Shiny Gengar.
Spotlight Hour on October 18
Which Pokémon? The third Spotlight Hour in October 2022 brings you Yamask from the second generation. It belongs to the Ghost type and can evolve into Cofagrigus.
What bonuses do you get? For catching Pokémon, you receive double the amount of experience points.
Who is it worth it for? Neither Yamask nor its evolution Cofagrigus is of particularly great importance in Trainer battles or raids. Use the event mainly to gather experience points. If you are still on the road from level 41 to 50, you can collect well here.
Can you catch Shiny Yamask? Yes, you can catch the shiny version of Yamask in Pokémon GO.
Spotlight Hour on October 25
Which Pokémon? In the last Spotlight Hour of October, Shuppet is in focus. It belongs to the Ghost type, originates from the third generation, and can evolve into Banette.
What bonuses do you get? For evolving Pokémon, you receive double the amount of experience points. Additionally, Niantic mentions another bonus. “Take your buddy with you to experience something special at the beginning and end of this Spotlight Hour.” What exactly that means is unclear.
Who is it worth it for? Shuppet is not particularly strong as an attacker. Banette at least performs decently in the Super League in Trainer battles and is also average in raids. Nevertheless, the event could be worth it because of the surprise that Niantic plans for the beginning and end of the event.
Can you catch Shiny Shuppet? Yes, you can catch Shiny Shuppet in Pokémon GO.
