Spotlight Hour on August 10
Which Pokémon will you meet? Shellos in the form of the eastern sea.
What bonuses do you get? For catching Pokémon, you will receive double the amount of experience points.
Who is this worth it for? If you generally need experience points on your way from level 41 to 50, the spotlight hour can help you. In combination with a lucky egg, you will receive four times the XP during the spotlight hour. The blue Shellos can also generally be found in Germany, so that’s not a significant bonus regarding the Pokémon.
Is it available as Shiny? No, Shellos is not yet available as Shiny in Pokémon GO.
Spotlight Hour on August 17
Which Pokémon will you meet? Shellos in the form of the western sea.
What bonuses do you get? For catching Pokémon, you will receive double the amount of candies.
Who is this worth it for? The candies are rather secondary at this event since you mainly encounter Shellos in the wild. Instead, it is worth doing raids to secure the double catch candies. In combination with Nanab Berries, you will then receive four times the candies.
Additionally, the red Shellos cannot be caught in the wild in Germany. This gives you a chance for regional Pokémon.
Is it available as Shiny? No, Shellos has not been released as Shiny yet.
Spotlight Hour on August 24
Which Pokémon will you meet? The focus of the event is Raffel.
What bonuses do you get? For sending Pokémon, you will receive double the amount of candies.
Who is this worth it for? Here, it is worth sending few Pokémon throughout the month and then sending them all at once during the spotlight hour. This way, you will earn the most candies.
Is it available as Shiny? No, Shiny Raffel is not available in Pokémon GO yet.
Spotlight Hour on August 31
Which Pokémon will you meet? The focus of the event is Wolly.
What bonuses do you receive? For evolving Pokémon, you will receive double experience points.
Who is this worth it for? For everyone who is saving Pokémon to evolve and still wants to collect a lot of XP. You can use the hour to perform your evolutions.
Is it available as Shiny? No, Shiny Wolly is not available to catch in Pokémon GO yet.
