As every month in Pokémon GO, there are some Spotlight Hours for you in April 2024. We will show you which ones they are and what bonuses are active.
What kind of event is this? The Spotlight Hour is an event that takes place every Tuesday. It lasts for a period of 60 minutes and brings at least one Pokémon into focus that appears in large numbers during that time.
In addition to the Pokémon, there is always a bonus that is active during the Spotlight Hour. After exactly one hour, the Spotlight Hour ends, and with it, the bonus.

When do the Spotlight Hours take place? A Spotlight Hour always takes place on a Tuesday from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Which dates, Pokémon, and bonuses are waiting for you in April 2024 can be found in the table.

Spotlight Hour on April 2
Which Pokémon is in the spotlight? On April 2, Zubat will be in the spotlight. The Pokémon from the 1st generation has the types Poison and Flying and can evolve into Golbat and then into Iksbat.
What bonuses are active? In this Spotlight Hour, you will receive double the amount of candy when you transfer Pokémon to the professor.
Is this event worth it? Neither Zubat nor its evolutions are particularly strong Pokémon. Golbat is usable in the Great League, but the Shadow variant is preferred here as it is significantly stronger. The event is good for sending Pokémon that you don’t need and for which you need candy.
Can you catch Shiny Zubat? Yes, the Shiny form of Zubat is already active in Pokémon GO.
Spotlight Hour on April 9
Which Pokémon is in the spotlight? On April 9, Glibunkel will be waiting for you during the Spotlight Hour. It can evolve into Toxiquak and has the types Poison and Fighting.
What bonuses are active? During this Spotlight Hour, you can enjoy double the experience points when you evolve Pokémon.
Is this event worth it? Glibunkel and Toxiquak are not Pokémon that are top-tier in the list of the strongest attackers in Pokémon GO. At least in the Ultra League, Toxiquak is acceptable, although you should rely on Shadow Toxiquak here instead.
If you are actively collecting experience points, you might be interested in the bonus with double experience points when evolving Pokémon.
Can you catch Shiny Glibunkel? Yes, you can also encounter the Shiny variant of Glibunkel during the Spotlight Hour.
Spotlight Hour on April 16
Which Pokémon is in the spotlight? On April 16, 3 Pokémon will be waiting for you during the Spotlight Hour. These are Raupy, Hornliu, and Waumpel.
What bonuses are active? If you catch Pokémon during this Spotlight Hour, you will receive double the amount of Stardust.
Is this event worth it? All three Pokémon and their evolutions are relatively weak. They are not worth using in raids nor in the battle leagues in Pokémon GO.
If you need Stardust, you might be interested in the bonus, and you can collect a higher amount of Stardust through catching Pokémon during these 60 minutes.
Can you catch the Pokémon as Shiny? Yes, all three Pokémon appearing during this Spotlight Hour can also be found as Shiny.
Spotlight Hour on April 23
Which Pokémon is in the spotlight? In this Spotlight Hour, Unratütox will be in the foreground. The Pokémon from the 5th generation has the Poison type and has an evolution in Deponitox.
What bonuses are active? In this Spotlight Hour, you will receive double experience points when you catch Pokémon.
Is this event worth it? Both Unratütox and its evolution Deponitox are weak Pokémon that are not particularly good for battle leagues or raids.
The most interesting aspect of this Spotlight Hour is probably the experience points bonus when catching Pokémon.
Can you catch Shiny Unratütox? Yes, Unratütox is also available as a Shiny Pokémon in Pokémon GO.
Spotlight Hour on April 30
Which Pokémon is in the spotlight? The Spotlight Hour on April 30 belongs to Piepi, the Fairy Pokémon from the 1st generation. It has another evolution stage called Pixi.
What bonuses are active? If you catch Pokémon during this Spotlight Hour, you will receive double the amount of candy for the catch.
Is this event worth it? Piepi and its evolution Pixi are not among the strongest Pokémon in Pokémon GO. At least Pixi is an acceptable Pokémon for use in the Ultra League, although there are definitely better Pokémon.
Can you catch Shiny Piepi? Yes, with a bit of luck, you can also encounter and catch a Shiny version of Piepi.
