What kind of events are these? Every Tuesday evening, a Spotlight Hour takes place in Pokémon GO from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. During this time, a selected specimen is in the spotlight and appears almost everywhere in the wild. Each week, the Pokémon that is in the spotlight and the accompanying bonus change.
The bonuses include more candies, more Stardust, or more experience points. In our overview, we show you all Pokémon and bonuses for the Spotlight Hours in April 2023.

Spotlight Hour on April 4
Which Pokémon? During the first Spotlight Hour in April 2023, you will encounter the Pokémon Owei from the first game generation. It belongs to the types Plant and Psychic and can evolve into Kokowei.
What bonuses are active? For catching Pokémon, you will receive double the amount of candies.
Who is it worth for? As an attacker, Owei is not particularly useful. While Kokowei is already significantly stronger, there are many stronger alternatives in PvP and Raids. Therefore, you won’t find suitable strong attackers for your teams here.
Can you catch Shiny Owei? Yes, the shiny form of Owei has already been activated in Pokémon GO and can be caught with luck.
Spotlight Hour on April 11
Which Pokémon? In the second Spotlight Hour in April 2023, you will encounter the Pokémon Muschas, which comes from the first game generation. It belongs to the Water type and can evolve into Austos.

What bonuses are active? For transferring Pokémon, you will receive double the amount of candies.
Who is it worth for? Muschas is not a strong attacker. Austos, on the other hand, can reach the upper midfield of the best attackers in PvP in the Hyper League. It is not particularly helpful in Raids. However, the event is still worth it for you if you take advantage of the bonus and collect a lot of candies for cleaning up your collection.
It is also important to note that Muschas provides more Stardust when caught than other Pokémon. This could be another incentive for you.
Can you catch Shiny Muschas? Yes, the shiny form of Muschas is already active in Pokémon GO and can be caught with luck.
Spotlight Hour on April 18
Which Pokémon? In the third Spotlight Hour in April, you will encounter Knacklion. The Pokémon comes from the third game generation and belongs to the Ground type. Its evolutions are Vibrava and Libelldra.
What bonuses are active? For evolving Pokémon, you will receive double the amount of experience points.
Who is it worth for? Of all developments in this family, Libelldra is the most useful. The Pokémon plays in the lower midfield in the Super League and in the upper midfield in the Hyper League. As an attacker in Raids, it is not very useful. Those on the way from Level 41 to 50 can use the hour for their evolutions and thereby earn a lot of experience points.
Can you catch Shiny Knacklion? Yes, the shiny form of Knacklion is active in Pokémon GO and can be caught with luck.
Spotlight Hour on April 25
Which Pokémon? The fourth Spotlight Hour brings you Tangela from the first game generation. It belongs to the Plant type and can evolve into Tangoloss.
What bonuses are active? For catching Pokémon, you will receive double the amount of Stardust.
Who is it worth for? Tangela plays as an attacker in Raids or in the Super League only in the lower midfield. Tangoloss is slightly better positioned and manages to be in the upper midfield as a Raid attacker. However, there are still stronger alternatives here.
For many players, the focus of the event will be the increased Stardust you receive for all Pokémon catches.
