In Pokémon GO, you can currently unlearn the charged move Frustration from the shadow Pokémon. We at MeinMMO show you 2 tips that can help you save a lot of time when used together.
Which move is it about? In Pokémon GO, you have the opportunity to battle against the villains of Team GO Rocket and secure a shadow Pokémon after the fight. These Pokémon not only look different from the regular versions but also have a special charged move: Frustration.
This is a Normal-type attack that isn’t particularly strong. Therefore, it’s advisable to change the charged move. However, this is only possible during certain time periods in Pokémon GO. During the Rocket take-over, it’s time again, and you can unlearn Frustration from the shadow Pokémon. We present you 2 tips to do this especially quickly.
How long does the Rocket takeover last? The Rocket takeover started on November 14, 2022, and runs until November 17, 2022, at 8:00 PM local time. During this time, your Pokémon also have the possibility to unlearn Frustration.
Here’s how to save a lot of time while unlearning Frustration
How can you unlearn Frustration? To unlearn Frustration on your shadow Pokémon, you need charged TMs. When you use these, the respective monster will receive a random move from its attack pool. Alternatively, with a Charged TM, you can directly select the desired move.
While normally you go through Pokémon one by one and use a charged TM on the corresponding monsters with the Frustration move, trainers on reddit now share various tips that you should apply in combination. With these, unlearning the move will be even faster. Here’s how.
How the tips work: To unlearn Frustration on your desired Pokémon as quickly as possible, it’s best to avoid opening each individual monster. This takes a lot of time. Instead, make use of the item and filter function in the game and proceed as follows:
- Click on your item bag and select the Charged TM or Charged TM.
- A Pokémon menu will open now.
- Type in the search bar at the top the search term “@Frustration” or “@Fru”. This will display only the Pokémon you can unlearn Frustration from.
- If you want to refine your selection further, you can add more filters to the search, such as “3*,4*” or “Mewtwo”.
- Then, just click on the respective monster where you want to change the move and confirm the change.
Those who use a Charged TM can select their desired move at this point. You can see what that looks like in the following image.
What should you note about the tips? The two tips are especially a really good option in combination when you use Charged TMs and can select your move directly yourself, or when the charged move that the monster randomly gets is not so important to you.
If you want to teach a specific charged move to a shadow Pokémon but still want to use regular Charged TMs, you should rather use a different search filter. After unlearning Frustration, it otherwise won’t appear in your list anymore.
To avoid having to search for these Pokémon again later, it makes sense to search directly for the respective monster, for example by entering “Mewtwo”. Now you can use the Charged TMs to change the move as many times as you like until you get the one you want.
By the way: If you prefer to use tags in the game, you can also create a corresponding tag, for example “TM”. By entering the respective name, you can also search in the item search bar and change the move of the registered monsters faster.
Which monsters are particularly worth unlearning Frustration from, we’ll reveal in the following article:
Can you redeem shadow Pokémon? Yes, in principle, you can redeem shadow Pokémon as well. You must do this for the Completion of the special research “Field Notes”, which takes place during the Rocket takeover.
