What event is it about? In Pokémon GO, you will be confronted with the villains of Team GO Rocket at regular intervals. After it was a bit quieter around the goons and bosses for a while, a new Rocket takeover is coming in a few days.
As part of a short event, they will cause a lot of trouble in the game again and will be found seemingly everywhere. They are also relying on completely new teams made up of Crypto Pokémon that you can even catch after the battle.
Now the PokeMiners have discovered 10 new Cryptos in the game code that you can look forward to for the Rocket takeover. We will show you which ones they are.
When does the Rocket takeover take place? The Rocket takeover is part of the High Voltage Event, which starts on January 27th. Team GO Rocket will then wreak havoc in the game from February 1st, 2023 at 00:00 local time until February 5th, 2023 at 23:59 local time.
The PokeMiners are a group of data miners who regularly search the game code of Pokémon GO for new content. They publicly share their findings with other trainers.
Their predictions about new monsters and features have often proven to be correct in the past. However, the data is not official information, which means Niantic can change this at any time or even completely forgo a release.
These 10 new Crypto Pokémon have been found
What has been found? As the PokeMiners announced via their Twitter account, they have stumbled upon a number of new Crypto Pokémon in their current search in the game code.
This suggests that these will be introduced into the game as part of the upcoming Rocket takeover. You may encounter the following monsters (via twitter.com):
- Crypto-Spoink
- Crypto-Groink
- Crypto-Registeel
- Crypto-Dusselgurr
- Crypto-Navitaub
- Crypto-Fasasnob
- Crypto-Elezeba
- Crypto-Zebritz
- Crypto-Wattzapf
- Crypto-Voltula
What supports a release for the Rocket event? That there will be new Crypto Pokémon in the game during the Rocket takeover has already been confirmed by Niantic during the event announcement.
It is therefore certain that Giovanni will use the legendary Steel Pokémon Registeel starting February 1st, 2023, and you will no longer see his strong Crypto Mewtwo for the time being.
And also the Crypto variants of Spoink, Elezeba, and Wattzapf as well as Crypto-Alolan Vulpix will, according to Pokémon GO, become a permanent part of the game starting with the event. Thus, it is likely that the other found Pokémon are also related to the Rocket takeover.
How to secure Crypto Pokémon
Where can these monsters be found? Not only the leader Giovanni will set a new team during the Rocket takeover. The grunts and the Rocket bosses Arlo, Sierra, and Cliff will also have one or two new Crypto Pokémon in their team.
