What VR experience can the standard PS4 offer users?
A few days ago, the PlayStation Neo, or PS4K, was officially confirmed as the “high-end PS4.” Sony is working on an improved PS4. For the first time, there will be a hardware upgrade within a console generation for PlayStation.
Both the new PS4 and Microsoft’s Project Scorpio are expected to enhance the virtual reality experience in the future. Will the current “standard” PS4 fall behind?
Standard PS4 is expected to deliver “premium VR experience”
According to Sony, there is absolutely no reason for current PS4 owners to worry. PSVR is expected to be fully functional on the current hardware.
They are “completely confident” that the current line-up of over 50 games will deliver a premium VR experience. On the current PS4, according to Sony.
Sony seems very satisfied with the performance of the current PS4. Owners of Sony’s console can therefore look forward to the future of virtual reality with peace of mind. However, it cannot be ruled out that “at some point” a Neo upgrade for VR games will be necessary.
