The PlayStation Network is currently down, online gaming on the PS5 and other PlayStation consoles is not possible. When will it be back?
PSN outage on October 1, 2024: If you are currently trying to start an online game on the PS5, you will find that a connection is not possible.
In fact, the servers of individual games are not responsible. Currently, the entire PSN is down. As a result, many services are currently unavailable, making online play impossible.

Which PSN services are affected?
Currently, the following services are unavailable:
- The PSN account management, so sign-in, creation, and editing
- Games and social networks, game streaming
- PlayStation Video
- All functions of the PlayStation Store. This includes downloads, searches, purchases, and everything else.

As of the latest update, the PSN servers have been down for several hours. Therefore, online gaming is not possible.
Online services in games like EA FC 25 on PS5 are not available
Currently, online gaming on PlayStation is not possible. For example, if you start EA FC 25, you cannot play online matches as the connection to the EA server does not establish at all.
On other platforms, content should be usable as usual. However, on PlayStation, you can still play offline games and use content as long as it does not depend on PSN. In EA FC 25, for instance, you can start Career Mode. You can find the best talents in the EA FC 25 Career Mode here.
