The MMORPG ArcheAge received Patch 6.2 this week, bringing new content and some balance changes. Among the new features are mounts, but you might want to think twice before acquiring them.
What are these mounts? In ArcheAge Unchained, you can purchase new mounts using the currency Diligence since the latest update. This is the currency that you can earn through the Battle Pass.
However, these mounts have significant disadvantages, as reported by reddit user mayumaru:
- All mounts from the shop come without armor. They can only wear a specially made armor for them, which you can get for 30 Manastorm Crystals.
- The mounts are relatively slow. The pretty Kitsus only reach 11.5m/second. The fastest mount, Emberwild Charger, reaches 16m/second.
Nevertheless, the mounts are quite expensive at 400 Diligence. The user warns against purchasing and receives agreement on reddit.
New Content, Balance, and Battle Royale
What else did the patch bring? Patch 6.2 introduced some new features to ArcheAge, including a single-player dungeon and the new world boss Charybdis.
Additionally, there are quite a number of balance changes to classes, dungeons, and rewards. The changes to the archer, who supposedly was not useful in raids, are highlighted positively on reddit.
Return of the Battle Royale? With the new patch, the Stillwater Gulf mode also returned, a Battle Royale with ships.
The mode first appeared with Patch 6.0 in October, but was re-disabled due to issues. Now everything seems to be running better, and players can visit the arena up to five times a day.
A round can last up to 60 minutes and provides useful rewards for the top 10 players, including Kyrios Badges and Radiant Infusion Supply Kits.
However, the update also brought a change that has been received negatively by EU players.
Fans from Europe upset about event times
What bothers the EU players? The times at which certain raids occur have been adjusted. This shifted some content to later times.
Many events, especially those related to sea content, now start between 10:15 PM and 11:30 PM:
- Lusca Awakening (Every day)
- EU: 11:00 PM
- Kraken and Black Dragon (Tuesday and Sunday)
- EU: 10:30 PM
- Leviathan and Charybdis (Thursday and Sunday)
- EU: 10:30 PM
- Abyssal Attack (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday)
- EU: 10:29 – 11:30 PM
- Delphinad Ghost Ships (Every day)
- EU: 10:45 PM
