On September 21, the free update 2.0 for Cyberpunk 2077 was released. Players are now showing what runs better and what they wish for. MeinMMO reveals to you what it’s all about.
Update 2.0 brought a multitude of improvements. The community had been eagerly awaiting this update, hoping for an improvement in the gaming experience. Now that the update is available, players on various platforms are sharing their impressions of what has changed in Night City, what problems the game has, what feels better, and what they still wish for.
Cyberpunk 2077 players share their wishes
What do the players say? On YouTube, Gameinvader uploaded a video that shows a direct comparison of Cyberpunk 2077 before and after update 2.0. Some players are responding to the video and sharing their impressions. They write about what runs better and what they would still wish for.
We have compiled some impressions from Gameinvader here:
Finally, tires can be damaged by gunfire.
- You can shoot with weapons while driving a vehicle.
- At release, it seemed like there were only a few police officers at first, but as soon as you would have attacked them, suddenly more would spawn right behind you. However, this wouldn’t be the case anymore with 2.0. Now the police would come gradually until they would defeat you.
- At release, the character had strange shadows in the water, which would have even gotten worse with patch 2.0.
- When climbing ladders (at release time), the character’s hands and head disappeared, which has since been fixed.
- Previously, fire caused damage when passing through a car if you drove over it, which wouldn’t happen anymore. However, the character is still immune to fire.
- Gameinvader also mentioned a bug where NPCs would die after a punch, which was supposed to be different at release.
- He emphasized improvements in NPCs’ reactions to your actions but noted that they are unfortunately still not perfect. They sometimes don’t react at all due to bugs.

Under this YouTube video, players share their thoughts and wishes about Cyberpunk 2077. Players comment on the changes in a nuanced way. While some are excited about the progress and emphasize that this is finally the game they expected at release, others continue to voice criticism.
The player garrytalaroc wishes that the developers would invest more in the physics and the interaction of NPCs and AI. In his opinion, this would make the game even more immersive.
Dark2stWhite writes (via Reddit): I wish they would fix the problem: When you have short or no hair and put on a hat, suddenly you have more hair.
Here you can see a comparison between the hairstyle without a hat and with a hat:

Here’s what other players say in the comments under Gameinvader’s video:
- Caa129 addresses the issue that Gameinvader also mentions in the video:
It’s still disappointing to see that things like citizens not walking around cars have not been fixed.
- tobecocontinued436 is excited about 2.0 and shares:
The cars sound much better, the gameplay is more fun, the world feels more alive, and the police no longer just appear behind you. This is the Cyberpunk 2077 we should have had from the start, and it will only get better with the DLC in a few days.
- Zood94 puts it this way:
Cyberpunk 2077 release = early access. Cyberpunk 2077 patch 2.0 = release 1.0
- The player pw6002 defends Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 and highlights:
I love how this game, despite the bugs since its release, has gained a huge fanbase. In my opinion, one of the best games I’ve played in the last ten years. By the way: Many of the things you (Gameinvader) show in your video were already implemented in earlier updates, like the animation when falling out of the car.
While some are excited about the progress and emphasize that this is finally the game they expected at release, others express points of criticism.
Overall, update 2.0 for Cyberpunk 2077 seems to be a step in the right direction to bring the game to the state many had wished for at release.
What do you think about it? Do you wish for even more from Cyberpunk 2077? Was a feature a game-changer for you? Feel free to share it with us in the comments.
