Many players of the beta of WoW Classic are diligently reporting bugs. Now Blizzard had to explain: These are not bugs, these are intended features.
For the past few days, the beta of World of Warcraft Classic has been accessible to a select few players. Blizzard is receiving a lot of feedback and bug reports to bring the game back to its original state from many years ago.
However, apparently many players have no idea what exactly a bug is and what an intended feature is.
For this reason, the developers have now published a list of the most common bug reports from players that are actually intended mechanics of WoW Classic.
List of bugs that are features: Here is the complete list of “errors that are not errors” and therefore should not be reported:
- Tauren have larger hitboxes and a greater melee range than other races.
- If you are critically hit while sitting with the /sit emote, then effects like Berserker Rage, Bloodlust, and Reckoning will not trigger.
- Using the “Auto Quest Tracking” option does not track newly accepted quests. (Instead, it starts tracking the quest once progress has been made on one of the new quests.)
- The health regeneration of warriors is as expected.
- Quest goals and interesting locations are not displayed on the map or minimap.
- Completed quests are shown on the minimap with a dot (and not with a question mark).
- Players and NPCs affected by fear run very fast.
- If you are standing on another player and look away from them, you can still cast spells and use abilities.
- The respawn of creatures is much slower than in Battle for Azeroth.
- NPCs that offer multiple quests inconsistently display them either as a dot or as an exclamation mark in the quest list. This was not consistent back in 1.12 and has been restored to exactly this state.
- Quests that are too low to accept are not shown as exclamation marks in the game world.
- Available quests are not displayed as exclamation marks on the minimap.
- Upon leveling up, there are messages like “Your skill in Protection has increased to 15.” This was introduced in patch 1.12.1 and the plan is to keep it that way.
The community is mocking the complaints: Blizzard publishing such a list has caused entertainment among players. Thus, there are many comments pointing out that many players are realizing for the first time what conveniences did not exist in Classic. Other players hope that Blizzard will publish more such lists of “reported bugs”, as they have a high entertainment value.
Would you have recognized all these “features” as such? Or were you surprised at some points that it was indeed so cumbersome back then? Do you think it is good that the exact previous state is maintained?
