There are some issues with the free Battle Royale Call of Duty: Warzone. Even Season 2 has been postponed. Now the first players are discussing whether a complete restart could help, and MeinMMO wants to know from you – how much do you think that would help?
This is the situation:
- Invisible skins, game crashes, performance issues – CoD: Warzone is not running smoothly for many players at the moment
- The new Season 2 has already been postponed for this reason
- Now there are initial discussions about whether a complete restart might help the Battle Royale
Restart of Warzone – Everything new, please?
CoD: Warzone will celebrate its second anniversary soon – in March 2022. A lot has happened since its release:
- The first map “Verdansk” takes place in the present and is continuously expanded
- Release of Cold War brings 30 new weapons into the game, with different values than the previous weapons
- Rebirth Island comes as a new map to Warzone
- A few months later, “Verdansk ’84” comes – a polished version of the old map
- CoD: Vanguard throws about 30 new weapons into the game at release – this time with 10 attachments
- The Pacific island “Caldera” replaces Verdansk
- With each season, more and more weapons come into the Battle Royale – at least 2 firearms
- Each new title also brings new operators and cosmetics to Warzone
Accordingly, Warzone is currently packed with weapons and cosmetics from several CoD titles. The weapons from the various CoD games also bring different properties into the game, making balancing the various generations more difficult.
This results in a gigantic selection of firearms and cosmetics.
The weapon selection is somewhat limited by recoil – if a weapon is too difficult to use, it is usually not popular. However, many weapons are easy to use and can keep up.
In addition, there are countless skins for weapons and operators and hundreds of smaller cosmetics like charms, stickers, and calling cards.
On reddit, some players are currently discussing whether a “restart” for Warzone would be reasonable (via reddit). Erasing all weapons and content, starting everything anew, and also renouncing the annual content of the premium CoDs.
Some feel that the annual integration of new CoD content leads to the Battle Royale deteriorating every time.
After the integration of Cold War, there were massive problems with weapon balance – and that lasted for months. After the integration of Vanguard, the issue is currently less about weapon balance, but rather the many bugs in the game that cause frustration.
However, a restart would also mean that many cosmetic items purchased with real money would disappear from the game, as well as earned content from previous Battle Passes. Additionally, favorite weapons and operators might be removed.
