A bug seems to be lurking in Destiny 2: Several players are reporting that the super rare quest for the weapon Malfeasance is suddenly no longer in their inventory. Other weapon quests also seem to be affected.
Imagine you battle through hundreds of Gambit matches until you finally get the quest for the weapon Malfeasance, and then, one day, the quest is no longer in your inventory. This seems to be happening to some Guardians who are complaining about their loss on Reddit and in the Bungie forum.
The quests for Redrix’s Claymore and Luna’s Howl also seem to vanish into thin air.
Players lose Malfeasance quest
This has happened: Reports from players on the Destiny subreddit and the Bungie forum are currently piling up, stating they have received the rare Malfeasance quest. Some had even begun working on the requirements for the quest.
But suddenly, the quest was no longer in their inventory. And the Drifter is not giving the quest back either.

And players working on Redrix’s Claymore and Luna’s Howl in PvP also seem to be affected by this bug. One Guardian writes that he was already at the fourth step of the Redrix quest and had reset his rank four times, which is now for naught.
Guardians wait for Bungie: Players are sharing their experiences in the respective threads and are now waiting for Bungie to address the issue. However, very few have hope that they will get their quests and quest steps back.
One player writes that Bungie maintains a strict “No Restorations” policy. Thus, he can hardly imagine that they would make an exception for these quests.
What you need to do for Malfeasance, Redrix, and Luna
These quests are about: Many players report that they have lost the quest for the weapon Malfeasance. A few Guardians are also affected by the tasks for the two PvP weapons Redrix’s Claymore and Luna’s Howl.

What you need to do for Malfeasance: Losing the Malfeasance quest is particularly bitter because to obtain the quest, you need happenstance and a large dose of luck on your side.
For Malfeasance, which is the weapon’s name in the original English, you need to enter Gambit. If you’re lucky, you’ll randomly summon a special Ahamkara that Guardians have affectionately named “Meatball”.
If you’re quick enough and can defeat the Meatball before the opposing team, you’ll receive the exotic quest for the weapon. Here we have listed all quest steps for you.

What you need to do for Redrix’s Claymore: Redrix’s Claymore is the sister weapon of Redrix’ Claymore and can be obtained through a quest given by Lord Shaxx in the Tower. Here we have compiled all quest steps for you.
What you need to do for Luna’s Howl: Luna’s Howl is acquired through a multi-part PvP quest in the competitive playlist of the Crucible. You also receive this quest from Shaxx. You can find all quest steps for this weapon here.
Are you among the Guardians who have lost one of the weapon quests? Or are you still waiting for the Meatball to appear in Gambit?
