Just a few days after release, some players have already completed a significant portion of Elden Ring. A new clip now shows how an advanced player demonstrates his magic abilities against an optional boss, which is quite impressive.
Currently, the Elden Ring subreddit is buzzing with gameplay videos and clips from players. Many showcase their greatest successes and failures.
The user ThatJapaneseMan has uploaded a video in which he tests the powerful spell “Azur Comet” on the boss enemy “Black Knight Kindred”.
The result is impressive:
Video shows what powerful means Elden Ring gives you
How did he achieve that? ThatJapaneseMan hasn’t provided a detailed description or guide to his build. However, one statement suggests that he is already far into the game and wanted to take revenge on this boss. He also utilizes buffs on spell damage and a powerful staff.

That’s why it’s remarkable: The boss is a tough cookie for many players. In the reactions to the video, numerous players have shared their experiences, some stating that they found the boss significantly more challenging, or are avoiding him altogether.
The creator of the clip himself indirectly describes magic as “overpowered”. Some players agree with him. For example, nicklovin508: writes, “As a melee character, this guy was on my ‘Not Yet to Fight’ list.”
notthatkindoforc1121 adds: “Damn. Every time I’m on reddit, I find ‘my build for the next playthrough.’ I don’t have the time to play this game five times, why am I still thinking about it?”
oppapoocow has a similar problem: “Bruh, I’ve already got 3 characters at level 50 because people always post their crazy builds here. At this rate, I’ll never finish the game.”
The comments also discuss the level scaling of enemies in RPGs. Apparently, Elden Ring has no scaling for enemies, as you can almost obliterate foes at the start of the game with a higher level and better gear.
This is evident in this case and also in the case of an impressive Margit kill that went viral from another player. But do players see it positively?
In Elden Ring, you can take proper revenge on enemies
In the comments, many fans celebrate that Elden Ring does not employ such a system. Many believe that such a thing ruins the power fantasy, the feeling of your character’s strength.
In RPGs, it often revolves around progression, better equipment, and higher stats. In the eyes of many players, a system where enemies level with the player character is almost toxic.
SmartestNPC puts it this way: “Enemy scaling rarely works. If enemies in an RPG scale with you, what’s the point of getting stronger?” luxsalsivi summarizes it for many:
It’s so satisfying to be repeatedly defeated by a mob because you’re underleveled and then come back and absolutely wreck them! Conversely, it’s also super satisfying to finally defeat a mob when you’re underleveled. It’s kind of a win-win lol.
Many are also considering how much more room there might be and what awaits players in New Game Plus in the next playthrough.
Many people are already making their plans for this and considering what builds they want to play next.
What do you think? Do you also play magic? Or have you chosen a different path? Feel free to share your experiences in the comments.
However, there are also players who are not faring so well in Elden Ring. One player now lives in Elden Ring as a turtle because life in the Lands Between became too tough for him.
