In the MMORPG Black Desert, a guild leader expresses his sorrow: His guild has been robbed. Materials worth €10,000 are missing, which took years to collect.
This is what the guild leader says: Just before Christmas, on December 20th, the troubled guild leader shares his plight:
- A player joined the guild, stayed for about a day, then stole all the guild materials and left the guild without a word.
- His loot consists of thousands of items worth more than €10,000 – the guild members had taken years to gather the materials.
- He does not know how this could happen, but he contacted a gamemaster, who clearly said: They cannot help here.
The problem is known, apparently not fixed for years
How is this being discussed? Apparently, this is a known problem in Black Desert: The “normal feature” known from MMORPGs, limiting access to the guild bank and granting roles only to those trusted, has been missing from the MMORPG for years.
It is believed that this is due to it being purely a Western issue, as players are anonymous only here. In South Korea, the home country of Black Desert, everyone must register with their social security number, so such thefts do not occur. But Pearl Abyss is indifferent to problems that only affect servers in North America and Europe, one user on reddit complains.
A player explains: Until a few years ago, everyone thought there were restrictions for the guild bank, but then a trend arose where players robbed the bank, though the trend faded and so did the memory of it.
However, the problem itself has never been fixed.
Generally, players are appalled that this basic mechanic of MMORPGs is missing from the MMORPG, many do not want to accept it.
A player gives the advice: One should create twinks and store valuable materials on them. Apparently, they are not safe in the guild bank.
Normally, it is much more difficult to rob one’s own guild:
