A too small inventory is a thorn in the side of many people in Pokémon GO. Many tend to invest in the expensive inventory expansions, but even with that, there is a limit. Or so it was thought, as a player on reddit now shows that the inventory in Pokémon GO is basically endless.
How big can the inventory be? If you have a new Pokémon GO account, your inventory is still very small. However, this can be changed through the currency Poké-Coins, which can be bought among other things for real money.
If you buy all possible expansions with it, the inventory reaches a maximum size of 4,500 items, but then it’s really over.
A clever player has now noted that there is a way to fill the inventory even further and found that not even the next zero plays a role.
How many items are possible? In a screenshot, the player No_Tune shared on reddit that he is currently carrying 10,041 items in his inventory. He wanted to prove that it’s not reaching an end at 9,999.
Whether he will take on the challenge to collect 100,000 items to provide the next proof is still unclear. Because behind this gigantic collection of items lies a considerable effort and some restrictions while playing.

Endless inventory makes life more difficult
How did he manage that? Anyone who has ever had a full inventory knows the annoying messages. You can’t spin any PokéStops anymore, can’t open gifts, and even from GO bullies, there are no rewards.
However, this system has exceptions, as the player has discovered. Specifically, the daily raid pass, which you receive for free when you spin at a gym for the first time that day.
If you don’t have one in your inventory, you can still spin at the gym to get it. You will simultaneously receive the items that you would have also gotten for the normal gym spin, regardless of whether your inventory is full or not.
Furthermore, raids also continue to give you items, as do routes. Whether this will always remain the case is not certain. In the comments, people point out that this used to work with the first PokéStop of the day, but it no longer does.
So, it is not necessarily sensible to stuff the inventory in this way, as you then become unable to do too many things in the game. Nevertheless, it is interesting to see that there is not even a limit at 9,999 slots. Many other players think so too, as the post has already received over 650 upvotes in one day.
What do you think about it? Have you already started such an experiment yourselves? Or do you find the whole thing rather pointless and burdensome? Let us know in the comments here on MeinMMO.
